Trent & Elena

"I'm going to see if you've dilated."

"Okay," I said and leaned back against Asher, holding Trent's hand tight.

I tried to be as gentle as I could with her as I opened her up with my hands. "Looks like you're at 4 centimeters. It may be another bit but you're definitely going to be giving birth in the next few hours."

"Oh my god... it's actually happening?" I said, feeling nervous now.

I smiled and nodded "It is." I heard the front door open and lotts of footsteps "Sounds like the Jacobs clan is here. I'll send someone for Ryan too."

I nodded and tried to concentrate on my breathing as another contraction hit.

"You boys take care of her, I'm going to make my rounds once more and I"ll be back." I told them and then left the house.

I nodded and breathed through the contraction as she left. "Could you help me sit up? I need to get some pressure off my back."

"Yeah, sure." I said and helped her up carefully "Is that better or a little more?"

"A little more, I want to walk around a little bit," I said and smiled at him. "Help me up, you're not gonna break me Asher," I teased.

"I know but...I'm just scared shitless is all." I took a deep breath "Has your water broken yet?"

"Not yet. Why are you scared?"

Elena

"I just really don't want to mess this up. The whole Fatherhood thing." I said as Trent and I helped her to her feet.

"You're not gonna mess up Asher. You're gonna be great," I said, rubbing the small of my back as I walked slowly around the room.

"We'll see." I smiled "At least Trent's around to help too, right?"


"Don't look at me, I know nada about kids."

I laughed a little. "Both of you are gonna be awesome, so quit worrying. I put my hand against the wall and took deep breaths as another contraction hit. "Oh my god this hurts."

"Sorry." I said, frowning.

"You should be sorry, you did this to me," I teased.

"But there is some good that comes out of this hurt." I chuckled.

"Yes there is. Just have to... get through this... first right."

"Right, hopefully it starts going a little faster. I know the moving around will help."

"Yeah, this... this one's stronger."

"Alright, we'll just keep taking it easy."

"Yeah, not much you can do right now," I said as the pain eased and I started walking around again.

We walked Elena around for awhile longer when Pepper showed back up.


"How are you feeling, now?"
