I got to the house and knocked on the door.

I got up from my chair and went to the door, checking out the window first. I turned to Pasha "It's Jay." I told her and opened the door "Evening."

"Good evening."



"Hello Jay."



"Hello. Could I come in? I have something I need to speak to you both about."

"Sure, come in." I said and stepped aside, shutting the door behind him "What's up?"

"I need to talk to you about Selene."



I crossed my arms over my chest. "What's going on?"



"I came here to ask for your blessing. I want to ask Selene to marry me."

"Oh..." I muttered and sat back down in my chair "I figured this was probably coming soon." I said, looking up at him "Yes...I'll give you my blessing."

"Oh... wow..." I said and sat down too. You're a good guy Jay. You've always been good to Selene. I give you my blessing too."



"I love Selene, more than anything. And I want you to know that I'm always gonna take care of her, no matter what. She's my life. I already got her a ring. I saved up for a long time, and I got it before we left to come here," I said and took it out to show them.

"Wow, that's really gorgeous. She'll love it, Jay." I told him, looking at the ring and remembering when I had proposed to Pasha. A pang of guilt hit my gut though, thinking back to those times I wasn't around or with other women. "I haven't made life easy for Pasha and Selene, but I've been improving. Nothing can make up for the time I lost, though." I said with a sigh "Be there for my daughter. Treat her better than I have."

"I always will, I promise. I will love her, and cherish her, and take care of her until the day I die," I said and took the ring back. "She loves you. And she's not mad at you. I just thought you should know that."

"Thank you, Jay. Selene's in her room, she went to bed early but she'll be more than happy to wake up for you."

I nodded. "Thank you sir," I said and got up, putting the ring back in my pocket, and went down the hall. I knocked lightly on the door then poked my head in. "Hey baby."

My eyes fluttered open and I rolled over towards the door "Hey, what are you doing here?"

I smiled. God she was breathtaking. "I know it's late, but can you come outside with me? I want to talk to you about something."

"Is everything alright?" I asked as I crawled from beneath the covers and slipped my shoes on.

"Yeah, everything's perfect. I just want to talk to you about something, that's all," I said and took her hand when she came over to me."

I smiled up at him "Alright, then." I said and let him lead me outside. Oddly my parents ignored it and acted like nothing was going on.

I led her through the woods until we got to the stream. The moonlight was shining off the water and when it hit her I couldn't breathe for a minute. "You are so beautiful."

"Thank you." I blushed a little, not really sure why because he'd told me that a million times before but it was the way he was looking at me right now as he said it.

I swallowed a little, suddenly really nervous, feeling my heart pounding in my chest. "I love you Selene. I love you so much... sometimes I feel like my heart's gonna burst because of it. The moment I met you... I knew you were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. When I'm away from you, it's like a part of me is missing. You're the love of my life, my everything. You're my soul mate." I slowly got down on one knee and took the ring out of my pocket. I took her hand and stared up into her eyes. "Selene McKnight... will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?"

I gasped as I saw the ring, it was gorgeous. The most beautiful I had ever seen and I was just speechless at first "Oh my god..." I whispered and then nodded as a huge grin formed along my face "Yes. Yes, I'll marry you."

I grinned and slowly slid the ring on her finger. "Oh thank god I got the size right," I said and laughed. I got up and wrapped my arms around her, holding her to me and kissed her long and deep. "I love you so much. I already talked to your parents, they gave me their blessing. I know that was important to you."

"I love you too." I smirked, my arms wrapped around him "So, that's why they weren't objecting to my leaving."

"Yeah pretty much," I said and laughed. "Oh god I love you so much. I can't wait to marry you."

"Me either, I love you Jay. I can't say it enough. Have you told your family?"
