The Infirmary

I reached over and took his hand for a moment "I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope you somewhat start to heal with time and find your way."

"Maybe I will. Guess only time will tell right?"

I nodded "Right." I muttered "I wonder if they'll come looking for me when they realize I'm not around?"

"I'm sure they're wondering where you are, but that wouldn't be the best thing for them to do, all things considered."

"I know. I don't think your doctor would let me go anyway."

"No, she wouldn't. You're in no condition to go anywhere yet."

"I'm kinda glad...I'd hate to be there right now."

"How come?"

"Just...the emotions I guess. We just lost Trace too...he was Diego's brother and he...well I guess he was mine."

I sighed. "I'm really sorry. I... I don't know how hard that is. I've never lost a sibling."

"Not like that....we were sorta together."

"Oh... wow. Damn I'm sorry. I do know what that's like," I said quietly.

"He was really sick though...I had never felt so helpless in my life."

"I know how you feel. We... we lost people in that sickness too."

"I really hope this fighting doesn't keep going because of what Diego did."

"Yeah me too. I think we've all had more than enough of that."

"Agreed." I said when the blonde came in and started checking me again. After some questions she gave me the okay to finally get some rest. "Thanks for staying with me." I said after she had left.

"You're welcome. I told you I don't mind."

"Maybe I'll see you around sometime."

"Yeah, maybe. I stay in the woods most of the time, I have a cabin out there with a friend."

"Oh.." I whispered and then nodded "I guess I'll just see you when I see you then."

"Yeah," I said and nodded a little. "Are you sure you're gonna be okay if I go? I can stay if you want. I really don't have anywhere to be."

"The choice is yours. I don't mind if you stay, it's better than being alone." I said, hating at how needy I sound.

I woke slowly, my whole head feeling fuzzy to say the least. I looked around a little, as much as I could, and saw Aurora sitting beside me. "Hey," I whispered.



"Well I can't have you alone. I'll hang out awhile longer."

"Hey. How are you feeling?" I asked, running my fingers through his hair.


"Thank you." I said and closed my eyes, trying to relax the best I knew how.
