The Infirmary

"Oh I'm sure they will. Things don't stay quiet around here for long."

"Especially not this." I laughed.

I smiled and kissed him. "Nope, this won't stay quiet very long at all." Alyssa finished eating and I took the blanket off of her and fixed my shirt before moving her carefully over my shoulder so I could burp her. "Do you want to hold her now Asher?"

Pepper came back in to check on me right as he was acting like he might be done. "Do I do anything now? He's stopped eating."

"Hell yeah, let me have her." I grinned and picked her up "Geeze. A little sister to look after now...poor kid."


I was just about to show her what to do when Abi, Lea, and Allegra walked into the room. "Looks like the news is spreading." I smiled.


"Truthfully, we wanted to beat the rest of the Jacobs' family before they start hogging him." I teased.


"I can show you how to burp him, Daphne gave me a lot of experience."

I smiled and leaned against Charles as we watched him holding her. "She's going to be spoiled rotten with three older brothers and two older sisters looking after her."



I smiled. "That's nice of you, thank you. Asher when to check on Darlene, she just had her baby too."

"Yeah, she is. She'll be tough though, for sure."


"Wow, really? Perfect timing." I laughed and showed her how to hold the baby "Just pat his back like this. Not too hard but not too soft or the gas won't come out. You really don't want that."

I smiled. "She will be. And I have a feeling she be one of the most protected kids in existence," I said and laughed a little.



I did what she showed me then looked back up at her. "Am I doing it right?"

"I think you're absolutely right."


"You're doing great." I smiled.


"Do you want me to go get Linna for you?" I asked and Abi gave me a look "What? I don't care what that asshole said about no visitors."

I smiled and kissed him. Things were truly perfect again. I hadn't thought they would be, but I couldn't remember ever being happier than I was right now.



"Oh would you? I would... I would really love that. Don't go alone though okay? I don't want you to get in trouble or hurt."

We were all spending time together as a family, going back and forth between rooms. Elena brought Amelia over so I could be with both of my babies for a little while. Lea and Abi went to the other camp and brought Linna over. I was still a little on the rocks about the whole thing but I was getting used to having her as a sister in law. After a few hours the visitors and family started to die down so all of us could get some rest. Linna decided to stay with Timber and I and what do you know? I could actually close my eyes and be in the same room with her. I was dozing off good when I heard someone come in through the front. I got up and walked out "Brown Eyes? It's late, everything okay?"


"Hey. Sorry to barge in like this, Ethan told me I could found you here." I sighed "No...nothing is okay. It's Quin and he's sick. He just kicked me out of the house and claimed I was a psycho pitch. He hasn't told you but he's been having headaches and losing his memory. It's bad...I don't know what to do with him."


"Shit. Alright, wait a second." I went back into the room and shook Linna's leg to wake her up.

I stirred awake and jumped a little when I saw Asher standing over me. It was still taking some getting used to, but it was getting easier for us to be around each other. Still strange though. "What is it? What's going on?" I asked quietly, not wanting to wake Timber up.

"Something's wrong with, Q. I need to go check on him and wanted to let you know incase she wakes up but I'll be back soon."

"Okay," I said, wondering who Q was, but it didn't really matter. "We'll be fine, go ahead. I'll let her know if she wakes up."

"Thanks, I appreciate it." I told her and left with Aurora.

I checked on Adam and Timber then laid back down to go to sleep.

We finally made it back to camp and got everyone settled in bed. "We need to assess everyone's injuries," I said to Pepper then turned to Rosalie. "They need food and water, can you and a few others run to the Mess Hall and gather some things?" 

Pepper started to take a look at all of them "Yes, of course. We'll be back soon." I gathered some people and left.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Pepper needs help and we have experience from the games, if you'll help her start checking the women, I'll check the men."

"Sure." Pepper was with Caitlin so I went over to Lea, grabbing a bowl of water and some wash cloths. "Will you let me clean you up?"



I gathered some shit so I could help Asher, going over to Chase first. "I'm gonna clean you up first so I can see what's doing, alright?" 

I nodded slowly. "Sure."


"Sounds good, Quin."

"I'll be careful," I said and started to slowly wash her off.



It took a few hours but we finally got everyone cleaned up, and their wounds closed. Pepper had found some leftover antibiotics so we could at least start taking care of the infections. We'd have to really watch them though to make sure the infections didn't spread any farther than they had. 

I ran into the infirmary using the back door but I could see through the windows that soldiers were heading our way with what looked liked medical supplies. "Sorry, Chase. This is going to hurt." I lifted him up over my soldiers while everyone seemed distracted for the most part and went through the back door that I had used. I had a gun on my hip incase we ran into trouble and I headed out.
