"Why in the hell didn't you ever....SPEAK! You should have said something. Don't fucking tell me to clam down. I just found out that I've been HAVING SEX with a married man! Not as bad as it sounds? And "Us"? What exactly are we because you aren't even sure of that either."

"We're not married anymore, my "death" took care of that, and she's married again. Brooke, I care about you. I asked you to move in with me. What do you want from me? I didn't think it would ever come up, or be an issue, I'm sorry. I made... the worst judgment call I could've made, but I had a good reason. I'm sorry."

"And how do you think your daughter would feel about this? I would be living with her Dad...I'm just a few years older than her. Can you imagine how awkward that would be for both of us? It doesn't matter if you thought it wouldn't be an issue....I told you what happened to me. I was honest with you and have lied this whole damn time."

"I didn't lie to you Brooke, I just didn't... tell you everything. I told you I had to come here after the raid 20 years ago and that's the truth. I couldn't tell you what happened, just thinking about it is too painful. I've lived with the guilt of what I had to do for all these years, but I've come to terms with the fact that I didn't have a choice. I couldn't go back there. I had no idea they were ever gonna come out here."

"Keeping things from me...especially important details of your life...that is the same thing as lying and if you try to convince me other wise...I'm going to break your nose."

I sighed. "Go ahead. I deserve it. I... I'm sorry Brooke. I don't know what else to say. I am really sorry."

I shook my head and ran my fingers through my hair and felt my eyes puff up. Oh, hello no. I would not cry. Nope, not here in front of him. "I have to go." I said as I turned away and went to pick up my hunting gear that was by the door.

I put my hand on her arm but she shrugged me off. "Brooke please don't leave like this."

"How do you want me to leave then?" I asked, my back still turned to him.

"I don't want you to leave angry."

"I'm not angry. I'm hurt." And with that I opened the door and left, slamming it shut behind me.

I sighed. Damn I just didn't know how to do anything right. I'd definitely fucked this one up royally. I went and got my shirt and put it on then left to go... somewhere. I didn't know where and didn't care.

I got to Jonathon's cabin, I wasn't sure if he was around or not but I knocked anyway.

I was sitting in front of the fire and got up, bracing myself before answering the door, not knowing who it could be. "Hey. Come on in."

"How are you feeling now?" I asked him as I walked in and he closed the door behind me.

"Like I want to crawl into a hole. But my face isn't throbbing anymore, so that's a plus. How was the wedding?"

"It went good. They didn't wait around for the reception though." I smirked and went over to him "You've had a rough day, I'm really sorry."

"I can't say I blame them." I sighed and sat back down by the fire. "You don't have anything to say sorry for. I should be thanking you. If it weren't for you, I'd have an arrow in my heart."

"You don't have to thank me for that, I'd never let anyone hurt if you if I can possibly help it."

"Same here with you. You shouldn't have to protect me though. Especially not... my own daughter... I know she was mad, but damn."

"Something tells me that she gets her temper honest."

"Meaning what?"

"Who does she take it after? You or Darlene?"

"Oh, definitely Darlene. Did you not see her out there? I'm lucky she didn't have a weapon in hand."

"Good point. I think with time they'll come around." I said "I needed to talk to you though."
