"Do you have everything you need? Take my lantern with you just in case you need it. The wick on yours is getting really low." 

"Alright, I'll grab it on my way out. Thank you."

"You're welcome," I said and kissed her cheek. "I'll see you later."



"I guess I should get going," I said, trying hard not to punch him in the face. 

"Me too." I said as I shot Carter a glare and headed for the front door.

"See you later," I said and started cleaning up the kitchen as they left. 

"Are you sure... there's nothing going on with you two?" I asked after she'd shut the door. "Because it didn't seem like that to me. Not from his end."

"I'm sorry Jon...I don't know what's going on right now but I'm..I'm really confused." I was practically stuttering, I didn't even know what to say.

"Confused about what? If something... happened with you two... you need to tell me." 

I shook my head, trying like hell to hold back tears. Jon had been good to me and he didn't deserve what I did. "I can't. I can't do this right now. Up until yesterday I wasn't even sure where we stood."

I shook my head. "You don't have to answer me. I'm pretty sure I already know." I shook my head again then saw two figures break through the trees. "I have to go. Have a good hunting trip. Be safe," I said and walked away.

I didn't say anything as he walked away, I just disappeared into the wood lines.
