"Well thats probably not true at all. What do you think we should do?"



Gen stitched up Diego and i walked with them back to the others. "So a chick stabbed you huh, sweet." i laughed.

"I don't know, but we can't let them go. The way they look no way are they alone, there has to be others. We let them go without knowing anything we're putting everyone here in danger."



I flipped him off. "Yeah, right in the fucking thigh. Cause Trace had to go chasing after the one girl so they flipped."



He went to move and I pushed him back down. "Lay still, I'm not done yet."

"Guess ask my brother what to do. We cant keep them, we arent terrorists." i said and looked over towards the shed. "You know where they came from."



"Bullshit. If you woulda been paying attention, not drooling.....doesnt matter now." i said, coming in with Cody.



"Wait, there are more chicks, oh man." i said laughing.

"We have pregnant women and children, they can't defend themselves if their buddies find us. We need to figure out what to do and quickly. They're probably already searching for them. Do you know where Carlisle is?"



"I was paying attention. She had a knife out but she hadn't attacked. Yet. I wasn't going to do anything unless they did something first," I said then looked at Rafael. "Yeah there were more, there was three of them but one took off."

"We have to try to break these ropes." I told Allegra "Any ideas?"

"He should be down the hill. He was checking on his wife, i think."



I smiled and looked at Gen, who turned her gaze away fast. "Well, maybe we need to go on a night mission."

I nodded. "Well that's more important, we can wait for him to get back."



"You guys can go, I'm stuck here for now until this damn leg heals."



"I could go too," I said quietly.

"Yeah, Gen and I could come along too."

"Yeah, shes probably freaking out. With good reason."



"Well im not going to wait. They are gonna come, and im not letting them come for mom and Cody. Gen, Uncle Cole will kill us if you go. "No Cody, these girls were fighter. That one was strong, and you see what the other did to Diego."



"They took my knife. Who the hell are these guys?"

"Right. I know what's gotta be going through her head right now and it's not good. We all know what happened. And with her expecting she doesn't need this stress."



"If you go I'm not staying behind. I can fight just as good as you guys can."

"I'll be fine Trace, I'm going. So is Gen, we'll be fine."


"I'll count to three and we scoot our feet together to the right, see if we can find anything in here." I told her as we worked together and started to move very carefully "Here's something, it looks sharp enough." I told her.

"I agree. I think i may go looking around later myself as well."



I looked at the girls. "Look, you two, you stay close to me and Trace you hear?"



We scooted back to back and started to cut. "Who the hell, i said straining to cut the rope, are these guys?"

"Sounds good man, let me know if you want me to come along," I said as Carlisle came up. "Hey, how's Sherri doing?"



"Worried, but otherwise she's fine. She's resting now. What's the word? Anyone go out scouting yet?"



"Not yet but we're talking about it. Speaking of I'm gonna go check on them, I'll be right back," I said and headed back to the shed.



"Yeah, of course." I had no problem with that whatsoever.

"Sure, we'll stay close to you guys." I agreed.


"No idea." I told her and we worked harder at the rope and I started to feel some slack "Keep going, almost there." I said as we moved the rope harder against the sharp edge and it finally gave way "Finally." I said as we both stood up.

I smiled at Cody "Sorry i got you yelled at."



"So, lets go check out the prisoners."



"We cant get out, they have us locked in." i said looking around.

"I wonder what they're like," I said as I followed behind him.



"Yup, have fun, I'll just wait here."



I came up to the shed and heard them moving around. I cocked my gun and pulled my knife out before opening the door a little and slipping inside, shutting and locking it it behind me. "And tied up again soon enough," I said, pointing the gun at them. "Sit back down. Now."

"Your gun doesn't scare me and I WON'T sit down." I said as we both rushed him, I kicked the gun from his hand and it flew through the shed he tried to grab at me and I moved away from him getting in my fighting stance "Lea Davenport. District One, I've been training since I was four." I told him "I'll talk, but you aren't going to tie us up again when your people are the ones who jumped us!"

I knelt and swung my leg out, kicking her legs out from under her and landing her on her ass then did the same to the other girl, knocking the wind out of both of them long enough for me to grab their wrists. "Fine, don't sit," I said and got one of their wrists into handcuffs bolted to the wall. "Do anything like that to me again and what you did to my boy will look like a fucking papercut. I come from District 1 too FYI just haven't been there in a very long time. More info. Now."

I looked at him and said "I wouldnt have stabbed that asshole, but, he held a knife to my throat. You all sttarted this, why do we have to explain shit to you. You can piss off for all i care. If We can wipe out a whole district, we can deal with you." i said and then shut up real fast.



"Yeah, sit right there gimpy.." i laughed as we headed to the shed.





"Guess we will see soon enough." i said as we got to the shed.



"Hows Sherri really?" i asked when D walked away.

I didn't say anything for a minute. "Excuse me? Well for one all three of them said the same thing, he didn't put a knife to your throat until after you stabbed him and brought him to the ground. For another thing, you better tell me what the hell you just meant by that. How many are there of you? What district are you talking about?"



I could hear Darnell inside as we got outside the shed. "He sounds really angry," I whispered.



I sighed and sat down. "She's exhausted. This pregnancy is taking a lot out of her, and now this... She is so stressed out, I don't know what to do. I don't want her getting out of bed until she gives birth. I'm... I'm afraid she's gonna lose the baby."

"There is nothing left of District One. It's gone...poof. Literally." I snapped "Unless you want to end up the same way I suggest you let us go. You're messing with people who've had enough of bullshit like this. Not to mention quite a few Hunger Game survivors. Don't think for one moment that they'll be afraid to come here."

"What's going on in there?" I asked Trace as I looked at him "Do you think they tried something?"

"Yeah, like I'm gonna let you go so you can show them where we are. Every word out of your mouth just makes it more and more obvious that we can't let you go. We don't respond well to threats. We've managed to live a helluva long time out here and that's not gonna change now. You think you're the only ones that have survived through a bunch of shit? I used to be district 1 and even I know what used to happen. But I will tell you this. Your little friends, however many there are, if they make the mistake of coming after you here they will regret it."

"How do I know I can trust you? If we talk, what happens then?"

"Well that depends on what you have to say. You tell me the truth - and I'll know if you're lying - we'll see what happens. I will tell you this though,we don't just go around hurting and kidnapping people. We only harm those that pose a threat to us."
