I heard the crash and ran out, blinded but the swirling mess of snow. I reached for the porch rail when i felt some one grab on to me. I linked fingers with the shaking hand and plled us both up and in. We fell inside and i closed the door. I turned as i took off my hood and stopped cold when i saw her watching me. "Oh, well what do yo know. Looks like i may not be bore dto tears after all." i said with a smirk.

I was breathing heavily from the rush and brushed my loose hair away from my face "Aren't we so lucky."

I looked at her minute then shook my head. "If you'd like I can drag you around til we find your boyfriend. I mean, since he seems so concerned and all." I said grabbing my jacket again.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean that the way it sounded." I sighed and slumped against the wall "Thank you for getting me out of there."

"We'll just say I heard a noise and helped. I didn't really save you. Any ways, want some cocoa?"

I nodded, sitting down on the floor and pulling my knees up to my chest "Sure."

I went and made the fire bigger and grabbed the deer skin blanket and put it around her. "Its gonna get cold. Stay closer to the fire. If i let anything happen to you Brett will skin me."

"It's possible." I smiled, teasing him "Do you have anything to cover up with? You have to stay warm too."

I handed her the hot chocolate and shook my head. "I will be fine. The fires pretty warm. Maybe if it gets too bad we might have to share that thhing."

I can do that I thought to myself and then was shocked that I had even thought such a thing. Jesus, he was my brother's best friend not to mention I was with Bastian "Right. That would be...okay."

"Are you sure? Dont want your boyfriend causing a scene, yanno."

I shrugged "He isn't here to cause a scene, he'll be stuck at the other camp a few days. Besides, we can't just freeze to death."

I looked at her, man she was so beautiful. Beautiful and taken and I sighed." Maybe I should go stay elsewhere."

We locked eyes for a moment "Why?" I asked him.

"Just don't think this is a good idea. I mean, to be honest I am looking our for your best interest really." I said, slowly looking at all of her. When I looked back at her face, she was blushing and I smiled. "What you blushing for?"

I smiled a little, shaking my head "Why are you looking at me like that? And please tell me what my best interests are."

"Never mind. I just really need to find something to occupy my time. I have books, so you read?"

"Mhm. Dodging the question, that's fine." I teased "Yeah, I read. What do you have?"

I stopped and faced her. "I was looking at you because you are amazingly gorgeous and I can't help myself." I said point blank.

"Oh." I felt my face blush more "And that's why you want to stay somewhere else?"

"Well I mean, oh hell. Look ill be fine. Just might make sleeping together under that pelt really interesting."

"I'd offer to go out and find another but I don't think that's possible. I'm sure...we'll be fine."

"I wouldnt let you, and as for the pelt....well i think we are both grown enough to deal with sleeping with another human for heat, or am i too sexy to resist?"

"Oh, I think you'll be the one resisting. After all, you're the one looking out for my best interests."
