Tara Thompson

I got Brayden and Adalee's cabin, knocking on the door. I was moving around better these days but Tara was still freakin avoiding me.

Dad was with Mom in the bedroom eating, so I got up off the couch and went to answer the door. I rolled my eyes when I saw who it was and tried to shut it, but he put his hand on the door, holding it open. "What do you want David?"

"What the hell do you think? Give me a chance to explain Tara."

"Explain what? That you're a murderer? Give me one good reason why."

"Because they tried to gang rape my sister." I blurted out without even thinking "Is that a good enough reason for you, Tara? I wouldn't have done it just for the fun of it."

I didn't say anything for the longest time. I didn't know what to say. "Oh.... god...."

"Right. So, when are you going to stop trying to find the bad in me?"

I sighed and stepped outside, closing the door behind me. "I'm sorry. Okay? Can you blame me for having a hard time trusting people though? I'm trying. It's just... one thing after another. Makes it a little difficult."

"I get that, but shouldn't I have gained your trust by now? Do you realize how much it really sucks that you still don't trust me after what I've done for you. You wouldn't even let me explain what had happened or anything you just assumed. Real nice."

"I already apologized David. Did you even stop to think for a minute what I was going through? Me and my mom and my aunt all got kidnapped. They went through hell, and I had to listen to every minute of it. I had to watch my back every second I was in that place, I saw the way his fucking guards looked at me, I'm not stupid. My dad and uncle were in jail, they almost got hung, I almost lost my mom because of what he did to her, my cousin got whipped half to death then thrown in the games, I lost... I lost my sister... Then to top it all off we had to basically run for our lives. We didn't even get to bury her David, we didn't get to say goodbye or anything. I just... I shut everything out. If I didn't I think I would've lost my sanity. I'm sorry that shutting everything out, meant shutting you out too. I needed time to... deal with things, my own shit. Okay?"

"So you wanted to deal with me being a murderer before you even bothered to ask me if it was true? I know what you've been through, I don't need a recap." I sighed deeply and shook my head "I can't do this right now. We'll talk later, I just wanted you to know the truth."

"I didn't want to deal with anything to be honest. I just want some fucking peace. If you want to leave, fine, then leave. Thank you for telling me the truth," I said and turned to go back inside.

"I'd like peace too but unfortunately it flew out the fucking window the day I met you. Haven't had decent night's sleep since."

"Well excuse me. Bet you really regret volunteering for that little rescue mission don't you. If I'm that much of a fucking burden, just don't come around anymore, problem solved."

"I volunteered at first but that isn't the reason I stuck around. You might be a burden to me but not in the sense you're thinking of."

"What the fuck does that even mean? In what sense then David?"

I ran my hands through my hair, debating. Ah, fuck it. "This one." I almost growled out and pulled her into my arms before she could resist and moved my lips over her's.

I gasped and stiffened against him, shocked. He deepened the kiss a little and I couldn't seem to stop myself from moving closer to him. He tilted my head back and I felt my lips part a little, almost on instinct, and gasped as he slid his tongue into my mouth.

I kissed her deeply and thoroughly, groaning against her mouth. I had wanted to do this for way too long now. I reached up and pulled the ribbon out of her hair so I could wrap my fingers in her waves.

I slid my arms up his chest and around his neck, letting out a soft moan as our tongues slid against each other. He deepened the kiss even more and I let out another soft moan, my breathing getting heavier, my body feeling flushed.

I loved the way her body felt against mine and I held her even closer when she put her arms around me. She moaned again and I remember her parents were in the house, I didn't want to get either of us in trouble so I gently pulled away and looked down at her. "Do you know what I mean, now?"

I nodded slowly. "I... um... um yeah... yeah I think so," I said softly, a bit breathless. "We could... maybe go somewhere... and you could show me again," I said and blushed, unable to believe I'd just said that.

"My cabin? Or somewhere else more private if you want. It's up to you."

"Your... your cabin?" I slowly nodded again. "We can um... we can go to your cabin."
