The Infirmary

"It's good to see you too. Taken why? Why would somebody do that?"

I shrugged "I don't know...I was on my way to your house and then...I can't remember after that."

I shook my head. "That's so fucking crazy," I said then turned to look at the infirmary when I heard a baby inside. "Have you... seen Carter yet?" I asked quietly.

I nodded, and noticed his bandages but I didn't say anything "He's still with her."

"I know this is a stupid question but... how is he?"

"Not good...he was cleaning her up when I left."

I shook my head. "I need to see him," I said and went inside, stopping when Pepper turned around with the baby, her eyes immediately going to my arms.

"Are you alright?" I asked him, worried.

I shook my head. "No. Not really."

"What happened? Did you do that to yourself?"

I nodded and looked down. "Not good enough it turns out," I said quietly.

"Thank goodness." I said as a rush of guilt washed over me. "Carter is in there." I said nodding towards the room. "He wouldn't want to lose you too, Cameron. Neither would Abi, she's a special girl. I figured that out when her and Ryan were together briefly."

Cameron - "She really is. And she deserves way better than me," I said and went to the door, knocking softly. 

Carter - "Come in," I said and looked up to see Cameron. "She's gone," I whispered.

Cameron - I sighed. "I know. I... damn it I'm so sorry," I said and came in, shutting the door behind me.

Carter - "Thanks," I whispered and wiped my eyes before sitting up slowly. "It doesn't... seem real."

Cameron - "I know. I... I wish there was something I could do." He didn't say anything and I crossed the room and put my arms around him. It didn't matter to me how much it hurt my arms, I hugged him as tight as I could. It took a minute but I felt his arms go around me and hugged him tighter as he hugged me back.

I got to the infirmary with Ezra and couldn't belive it when Brooke was actually setting there. "Holy hell." I said and hugged her "It's good to see you, we'll catch up later alright?" I told her and then went inside and found the room they were in. I walked in and shut the door gently behind me.

I looked up and saw Caleb. "Hey," I said quietly.

"Hey." I said and walked over towards him, Cameron and Ronna. "I'm so sorry Carter."

"Thanks Caleb."



I went inside and was going to sit down when I saw Bella laying in bed in one of the rooms. I went over to Pepper and pulled her aside. "Bella's here, is she okay?"

"She had the baby, Asher and Faye have already taken it to the other camp. Darnell and Leyla have adopted her."

"Oh... wow... Is she okay? And the baby?"

"They're both doing well....it's been quite a day though." I sighed, I was heartbroken that we'd lost Ronna "I don't know what to do with him...he'll have to leave her here so we can get her taken care of."

"I know," I said quietly. "Good luck getting him to do that though. Least not right now," I said and went over to the baby in the crib. "Oh... they had a girl. She's so beautiful," I said softly, tears in my eyes. She looked just like Ronna..

"Of course not, I'll give him a little bit." I said and went over to the baby too "She's gorgeous."

"She really is." I wanted to hold her but I just couldn't bring myself to. "Do you um... need anything around here?" I asked, taking a step back from the crib.

"After today I'm short on a few supplies, do you know where Victoria stored the rest of it?"


"Where are you going to stay tonight?" I asked Carter.

"Yeah I know where she put them. What all do you need? Or do you just want me to get a bit of everything?"



"Right here. I'm staying right here," I said, looking back down at her again and running my fingers through her hair.
