Philippe & Rosalie

I blushed a little but smiled regardless. "I don't need to be spoiled, just a few things to get by will be good enough."

"Not good enough for me." I reached over and touched her cheek lightly. "Just because you think you don't need to be spoiled, doesn't mean you don't deserve it. You'll get way more than just a few things to get you by." I pulled my hand back and ate another bite. "Your food is going to get cold sweetheart. You should eat."

I didn't know how to react to him, he was like no one I'd ever met. I picked up my fork and started eating and wondered how much he knew about me.

"Why don't you tell me about yourself. I know you're from the lower districts and you lived alone. I don't really know anything else about you though."

"I was a merchant and a few weeks before we left I moved in with a friend and his little sister. After we made it to the camp I started helping Pepper and discovered that I'm not such a bad nurse."

"You like helping people. That's a wonderful ambition. I'm sure she was glad to have your help."

"She was. God knows the poor woman had her hands full." I said "Maybe I could become certified and work at one of the clinics?"

"If you would like to, I'd gladly help you. You don't need to work if you don't want to though. I'm sure you'll want something to keep you occupied though." I could think of several things to occupy her, but now was definitely not the time to even try to bring those up. I needed to get those thoughts out of my head for now.

"Thank you. You'll be working and it would be better than just sitting at home."

"Right. I don't want you to be bored. I want you to be happy here."

"I can tell." I smiled.

I smiled back at her. "Good. I'm glad." I noticed her glass was empty and got up to get her some more to drink. "Would you like more to eat?"

"No, I'm full for now."

"Alright. If you're ready we can head out then."

"I'm ready when you are." I smiled and stood up from the table.

"Let's head out then." I led her to the car and helped her in, then got in on the driver's side. I started the car and we headed out. I took her into the center of the Capitol, where all the shops are. "Where would you like to go first?" I asked, smiling at the look of amazement on her face.

"I..um...I have no earthly idea." I replied.

I smiled. "Why don't we start with some clothes?" I asked and pulled into a parking space.

"I don't think I'm going to fit in here very well."

"I wouldn't say that." I turned the car off then turned my head to look at her. "I know all of this is really overwhelming. But we'll take it all slow okay? Anything you see that you like, we'll get. You don't have to dress in those fancy clothes if you don't want to, you can get jeans and t-shirts if you like. Anything that makes you comfortable. I just thought we could walk a little, get to know each other more? If you'd like?"

"Alright. That's what we'll do then."

"Okay," I said and got out of the car, going around to let her out. I held my hand out to her and smiled when she took it. "So what else do you like to do? Besides help people?"

"I don't know, really. Isn't that silly? I had to worry about survival for so long I never worried about hobbies too much."

"I don't think that's silly at all."

"I suppose time will tell. I'll figure it all out eventually." Some ladies passed us on the sidewalk and shot me a few strange glances and I knew they were whispering about me but I did my best to ignore them.
