Jordan & Grace

"Under the circumstances," I said and chuckled a bit. "Well I hope you eventually decide to not be so stubborn. I'm not quite sure how to take it," I teased.

"Why? You've never dealt with a stubborn female before?"

"Actually no," I said and chuckled a bit.

"I see. Are you used to just getting your way then?"

"I'm used to taking orders from Tywin. I rarely interact with women actually." No way was I going to mention Dakota's.

What a liar. "I don't believe that. Any guy who looks as good as you interacts with women."

I couldn't help but smirk a little. "So. You think I look good huh?" 

Oh, god. Had I said that? Yep, totally did. I couldn't stop myself from blushing "Umm. Yeah...I guess I did." I muttered and then a wave of guilt rushed over me. "I shouldn't have said that. I'm..I'm with someone."

I smiled at her. "You paid me a compliment. It's not like you slept with me. Relax," I said and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "How does your hand feel?" 

I moved my eyes away from his to look at the floor. He was close to me...probably way too close. "It just stings a little. I'm fine." I muttered.

I could tell I was making her uncomfortable so I backed off a little. "Why don't we go downstairs? Get something to eat?"

"I told you I wasn't hungry, I'll be okay until breakfast." I said and stepped back to put more distance between us "I know earlier I asked if I could stay with you but I think I'm alright now that my nerves have settled. I'm going to clean the bathroom and go to bed." 

I sighed a little. "Let me stay with you Grace. I'm not going to try anything, I promise. You shouldn't be alone tonight though, you've been really upset." 

"It's not you that I don't trust, Jordan." I said, feeling really exhausted all of a sudden "I've never even dated anyone except for Tyler and now I'm married. You make me forget all of the bad and I've only known you for a day."

"Then let me keep helping you forget. Where's the harm in that?" I said gently.

"Plenty. I'm not stupid, I can feel where this is going to eventually lead."

"Only if you initiated it Grace. I would never force you into anything." 

"I know you wouldn't. You aren't that type."

"I'm glad you know that." I sighed a little. "Look Grace... I know you wish things were different, but I just want you to be happy here. Anything you want I'll do my damndest to get it for you. Okay?" 

"Okay." I replied in agreement. "Jordan, it's not you that I don't trust. It's actually myself. Emotionally, I'm pretty weak right now."

"I know. I could tell. Which is just one of the reasons I'm going to be a perfect gentleman tonight. I promise nothing is going to happen." 

"I believe you." I smiled a little "Alright, I'm ready for bed now."

"Alright. Why don't you go on in and I'll meet you in there in a minute."

"Okay." I said and went into his room, wondering where he was going.

I never wore anything to bed, but I couldn't exactly do that tonight. I went to get a pair of pajama pants from the laundry and had just finished changing when the alarms went off, the same time as my phone did. I cursed and answered, then hung up after a moment. I made my way back to the bedroom and poked my head in. "There's an emergency at the prison, I've got to go for a bit. I'll be back as soon as I can though, okay?"
