I turned the t.v. on and watched as they went over the chaos that was going down. "I have to find my kids and Katy."



"Oh... yeah, of course," I said and wrapped my arms around myself.

"Hey...that didn't come out right. Fuck...I'm sorry. I'm not going anywhere without you though. I'm not leaving you here with this shitty going down." Besides what if they found out he'd been here. "You're important to me."



I smiled a little. "You want to take me with you?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"



"I... I don't know. I just... know you're still in love with her is all."

I didn't know what to say to that. I'd probably just dug myself into a major hole but who cared. "She's married to someone else now."



"I know she is."

I turned to look at her and instantly felt a pang of something. I wasn't sure what it even was though. "My dad said she was with him tonight so I'm assuming things are good between the two of them."



"I wouldn't know. I'm sorry. I don't know her personally."

"Where should I take you that would be safe?"



"I don't know. Hard to say with the way things look right now."

"I'll think of something then." I said and went over to her, taking her hands in mine "Do you trust me?"



I nodded. "I do. I trust you Preston."

"Good. I'll find you a safe place until this blows over."






"Is there a safe place around here right now?" I asked, watching the tv.

"Yeah...I'll take you to my Dad's house." 



"Will he mind you taking me there? I don't want to cause any trouble, I can stay here."
