Mess Hall

"Eat every bit you want baby. If you want more I'll get it for you," I said and kissed her.

Cameron and I set down to eat when Jaxson came through, we'd met him a few weeks ago and he was pretty nice "Hey Jaxson, you can set with us."

"Thank you." I smiled as I took another bite.

"Of course," I said and kissed her. "I love you Grace."

"I love you too."

I slid into the chair and set my tray down. "Hey, Abi right?" I asked as her boyfriend said he'd be right back.
Jaxson

"Right." I smiled.

"He doesn't talk much. Hope he's cool I sat down ."
Jax

"Sure, I don't know why he wouldn't be. He just has a lot on his mind."

"Yeah that seems to happen a lot out here. I know his brother Carter. Pretty cool guy."
Jax

"Yeah, he is. He and Cam haven't gotten along lately but I hope they work it out."

"Family is very important." I said after we'd eaten a few bites.
Jax

"Yeah, it is. Do you have any family?"

We got to the mess hall and sat by Tyler and Grace.



I saw Carter sit down with Ronna. I wasn't sure if he'd seen me or not, but he didn't act like he had so I just went and sat back down by Abi.

I watched Cameron and the hurt on his face as Carter didn't even acknowledge him "Ya know. I'll be right back." I told Cam and Jaxson, I walked over to Carter "I'd like to talk you. In private, please."

"Can it wait? I'd like to finish eating before this storm hits."

"It's waited long enough. Too long, actually."

I raised my eyebrows a little. "And what exactly do you want to talk about?"

"I'll let you know when we don't have an audience or did you miss the whole "talk in private." thing?"

I sighed and pushed my tray away and stood up, walking away from everyone else. "What?" I asked when I turned to face her.

"Have you forgotten that you have a brother?" I asked.

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "What goes on between Cameron and me is none of your business. So stay out of it."

"First. You should know better than trying to tell me what to do, you've known me too long for that shit. Second, Cameron is the man I love so he is my business, so you continually hurting him is MY business." I was trying to keep my voice down "He didn't mean the things he said and did, you know that. You know what those pieces of shit were pumping into his body and he's here. He didn't stay there, he came here with us for a new start. It's time for you and Caleb to move on. Please, this is killing him."

"You have no idea the kind of fucked up bullshit Cameron said to me. Or has he told you? I don't care what you or anyone says, it's not exactly a cake walk to push that away and pretend it never happened."

"He doesn't even remember everything that happened, Carter. How can you still hold things against him that he can't remember? We've talked, he was honest with me about what he can recall. I think he's close to being depressed because he lost his best friend and brother, I live with him so I know. You and Caleb could have the decency to at least talk to him about what happened."
