Trent & Elena

I nodded and laid back a little, letting him put his hand on my stomach.

I rested my hand on her stomach for a little while until I started to feel the flutters "Oh, wow." I smiled.

I smiled. "Crazy huh?"

"Yeah, it is. But in a good way." I chuckled "Don't be upset with me. About going back that is, I'd never let our baby grow up without me. I promise."

"I know," I said softly. I was afraid something would happen and he wouldn't come back, but I kept my fears to myself for now. "I know you'll come back Asher. You have too much here."

"You're worried, I can tell."

"How could I not be."

"I know that Trent has a lot of good points. Hell, if anyone has ever told me how it is it's been him. But, I don't want people to hurt the way I have, not that I've been a help to them anyway...tragedy has been sorta unavoidable."

"The thing is Asher... it's not like someone helpless went back to the districts. This is Quin we're talking about. He's stubborn, and a lot of times he's an ass, but he can take care of himself. He doesn't need to be saved, he made the choice to go back there himself. Why do you have to leave and go after him, and risk your own life in the process? If something happened to you... a lot of people would be devastated."

"Because no matter how stubborn he is, I love the boy. He's been good to me over the years, if he's in a hard spot I have to bring him home to his family." The baby stopped fluttering and I moved my hand away "I gotta go. I'll be back, I promise."

I put my hands over my stomach and nodded. "Alright Asher. Just... be safe. Okay?"

"Have I ever lied to you?" I smiled.

"No Asher, you haven't. I'm sorry, I... just can't shake the feeling that... something is going to go wrong."

"Come here." I told her, and hugged her. Friendly of course so Trent wouldn't break my arms "I'm coming back, I always come back. Take care of yourself and the baby."

"I will, I promise," I said and hugged him tight. "Take care of yourself. You and Quin better come back safe alright?"

"We will. I'm going to bring his ass back here and chain him up somewhere if I gotta."

I smiled a little. "I'm sure Aurora and his family would be completely okay with that. How... how is Raine? And Bella? And the others? Like I said, I haven't been out much."

"Aurora isn't good. I seen her on my way here she was pretty upset that he wasn't with me. Raine and Bella are coming along."

"I'm glad they are. I've been worried about them. Is Aurora going to be okay?"

I came back in with food and looked at Asher. "If you are done, she needs to eat and go see Pepper today." i said handing Elena the breakfast.

"I don't know about Aurora, she wasn't saying much." I told her and looked at Trent and chuckled some "Well,me being here shouldn't keep her from eating or going to see Pepper. Have I ever kept you from anything Elena?" I asked her.

"No, you haven't," I said and sighed at the both of them. "Thank you for the food Trent," I said and kissed him as he sat by me.

"That's what I thought. And I'm a little confused right now because when I show concern towards you and the baby Trent here can't wait to get rid of me but then he wants to lecture me when I'm going somewhere? Damn Trent your mood swings are giving me whip lash."

I looked at him and cocked my head. "No, I want you to realize that you leaving all the time is bullshit. Her worrying about you is bad for her and the baby. Just amazed me you put everyone before your own child. So excuse me if I have a fucked up attitude. We can take this outside if you'd like."
