Benjamin & Aurora

"Not in the least." 



 "Alright. Do you need anything?" 

"I'm just going to shower and lay down." 



"Okay. Please let me know if you need anything." She nodded and I watched as she got up and went upstairs. 

I got halfway up the stairs and stopped "Ben?" I asked, as I turned around.

I stood up and turned to look at her. "Yeah?"

Ben

"I'm stubborn and way too head strong sometimes. I can be really difficult, argumentative, and a complete pain in the ass. So, are you sure you're ready to deal with me long term?"

I smiled a little and got up, walking slowly up to the bottom of the stairs. "Of course." 

"Why?"

"Because you're my wife. We're in this together, for better or worse." 

"Fair enough."

"Besides that... I know it hasn't been long, but... I care about you." 

"At least somebody does."



"A lot of people care about you Aurora. I just happen to be one of them." 

"But you haven't even known me that long." -Aurora

"What does that have to do with anything?" 

"I guess I just don't understand it."

"Any particular reason why?" 

"Because I've never met anyone like you. Which isn't a bad thing."

"I'm nothing special sweetheart."

Ben

"I think I have plenty of time to find that out for myself now."

I smiled at her. "That you do. I don't need time to know you're special though. I think you're more than special." 

I smiled a little and didn't say anything for a moment "I can't get involved with you. Every time I do that...something bad happens and I'm not taking anymore chances."

"What do you expect is going to happen?" 

"I don't know, exactly. But the last time I thought Quin was gone for good I made a really stupid mistake that had a domino effect on everyone around me. I hurt myself and I hurt people around me."

I didn't say anything for a minute. "I'm sorry to hear that. It wouldn't be the same this time though. Quin isn't coming back. Not really. He's going to be found, and arrested, and he's going to go back to prison. He's not... going to get out again," I said, hating saying that to her, but it was the truth.

"He told me about his execution if he goes back." I whispered.

I nodded. "And he will go back. They won't stop until they catch him and the rest that escaped."
