Brett & Selma

"You can try. I don't know how responsive she would be though. She... she doesn't do well around... around men. She's barely even spoke to Brett." Speaking of Brett, what the hell was I doing in Parker's arms? I knew I shouldn't, but... I couldn't make myself move away.

"She'll heal in her own time, it might be best to leave her be." I kept holding her, kept caressing her lower back with my hands. It felt good to hold her again...she was off limits but that didn't stop the feelings.

"Maybe," I said softly and sighed as his fingertips brushed against my skin. His hand had moved my shirt up a little without me even realizing it. Oh god I needed to stop... but it felt so good being in his arms again... It had been so long...

"I should go now. Do you need anything before I do?" I asked. I needed to get out of here, I was getting carried away. It had been a long...long time since I'd been with anyone. Didn't want my hormones to get the best of me. Especially not here if I could help it.

I was fighting with myself and turned my head to look at him. My eyes met his and I licked my lips a little, my throat feeling a little dry. "Yes," I whispered.

I really shouldn't but I was going to anyway. I brought one hand up and tangled my fingers in her hair, tilting her head back as I kissed her hard and deep. The need was so strong, I plunged my tongue into her mouth savoring the taste of her.

I moaned and tightened my arms around him, unable to stop my body from pressing harder against him. I moaned again when he deepened the kiss even more, making my head spin.

Our tongues moved together and it felt so good. She was perfect just she'd always been. I finally mustered up the strength to pull away. "God, Selma." I sighed "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. But I don't regret it."

I put my hand over my mouth and took a step back from him. Oh god what had I done.... "You need to leave," I whispered, blinking back tears.

"Fuck...I know it." I sighed and turned to leave "I'm really sorry." I told her and then walked out the door.

I sunk down onto the couch and put my head in my hands. God what had I done... what had I done...

I was coming back home to check on Selma and the girls when I seen Parker leaving my cabin. What the fuck? I marched up the steps and went inside, Selma was sitting there with her head in her hands. "What in the hell was he doing in my house?" I demanded.

I flinched and shut my eyes against my tears. "He... he came here to... to talk about Quin," I said softly, my head still in my hands.

"Why? What's wrong with Quin? Is he okay?"

"He wasn't, but he will be. He said he found him wondering around in the woods. He didn't know where he was and had a really bad migraine that made him sick."

"If that's what you're upset about then I understand. We'll go check on him later, we can take them some dinner or something."

I nodded. "Okay. That's... that's not all I'm upset about though."

"Then what's wrong, Selma?"

"Parker, he... wanted to know what... what was wrong with Raine. I told him and... he hugged me and..." I sighed. "He kissed me Brett. And I kissed him back. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, it was just a kiss, nothing else happened, and I feel horrible about it. I'm so sorry."

I stood there for what felt like forever...taking all of that in. "I see."

He didn't say anything else and I looked up at him slowly, not even trying to hold back the tears anymore. "Please say something," I whispered.

"What do you want to hear exactly? That I'm not hurt? That I'm not pissed the fuck off? Because that would be god damned lie." I was trying not to yell...trying so hard because I didn't want to disturb the girls. I ran my hands through my hair and sighed deeply "I was stupid for thinking any of this could work anyway. Hell, two of your kids won't even look at me and you're all over some other asshole so I must be lacking something." I said and slammed into our bedroom to get some of my shit together.

I got up and rushed after him. "Baby that's not true, please don't think that. You're not lacking anything. I made a mistake, I am so sorry, please don't leave. We can make this work, please don't leave me."

"I knew when he showed up here that I wouldn't be able to compete with him. He's Quin's biological Father and I'm nothing. Just some guy living with his Mom." I started getting my clothes together and putting them into a backpack.

"You're more than that, you're so much more than that. I love you Brett, please... please don't leave," I said, tears falling down my cheeks again.
