In Town

I found Chelsea in the square and stopped her. "Hey girl I uh... I've gotta talk to you about something," I said and told her what I'd walked in on.



I just stared at her for a minute, not knowing what to say. "E-excuse me?"



"I'm really sorry Chelsea. I don't know how long it's been going on or... if they've done more than kiss. I was just taking a walk and came across them in the woods."



"Oh hell no. This is not gonna fly. In the woods you said?" She nodded and I turned around and headed in that direction. I was halfway there when I saw Heath. "Hey! Heath! Come here!" I called out to him.

I stopped what I was doing when I heard someone call my name. I looked up and seen it was Chelsea "Hey, what's up?"

"Um, nothing good. Kiki here just saw Ethan and Alicia in the woods. Making out. Pretty heavily. I am on my way to find them and thought you might want to join me."

"What?" I asked while it took my mind a moment to wrap around what she just said "She's gotta be mistaken. Alicia told me she was going to see Elena earlier today."

"Well either she lied, or she had ulterior motives. Either way, I'm not mistaken. I know what I saw Heath."

"Where did you say they were? Are they still there?"

"They were when I left them. They were in the woods."



"I was headed that way right now."

"Alright." I said and walked over to them "Let's go see what they have to say then." I said, still not really believing any of it.

I woke up that morning and couldn't find Quin in the house or anywhere outside. I ran to the Mess Hall, the stables, and everywhere I could think of. He wasn't anywhere to be found and I was starting to feel a panic coming on.

We made it out of the woods and I looked up as we started into town, seeing Aurora. Even from a distance I would always recognize her. "A... Aurora... over... over there... that's... that's my fiancé," I whispered, feeling like I was gonna vomit now. I needed to lay down.

"Alright, just take it easy." I told him "Aurora! Over here!" I called out to her and I could already see the worry on her face as she ran over.


"What happened? Is he alright?" I asked the man and then looked at him a little closer "Who are you?" I asked. He looked familiar but I knew it hadn't met him before. "Quin are you alright? What's wrong?"

"I... I don't... I don't know... Woke up in the woods... don't know how I got there... Migraine... really bad... I'm nauseous... and dizzy... and... oh fuck," I groaned and doubled over, throwing up all over the ground.

"Oh my God, Quin." I didn't care, I took my shirt and cleaned his mouth off with it. "Come on, we have to get him home." I said and he started to follow me.

I laughed and shook my head then looked up. I stopped when I saw him coming out of the mess hall. I recognized his face from my dream.... It was Parker. I didn't even know how to begin to say anything to him. Didn't even know what to say to my mom about the whole thing. I was pissed, but holding it in for now. If I actually spoke to him, I might literally explode. "Come on. Let's go," I said and headed the other way. "Which clearing should we use?"

When I seen that guy came fro the mess hall and I didn't recognize him right away red flags started to pop up. "Wait. Who the fuck was that? Why haven't I seen him? And why were you glaring in his direction?"

I shrugged. "I wasn't glaring."

"The fuck you wasn't. Tell me why."

"Nobody important apparently. At least not enough for my mom to say shit about him. Obviously wasn't all that important to him either. It doesn't fucking matter Asher, just let it go."

"What in the hell are you talking about? Yeah, I'll let it go now. Riiiiiiight."


Katy and the kids were off with the women and I stepped outside and seen Asher and Quin off to the side talking. I walked over to them "Sup?" I asked and then registered the looks on their faces. "Ohhh. Bad timing?"

"Not really, just on the way to get ready for my wedding. And Asher needs. To let. It go. It's nothing. I don't want to talk about it right now."

"Fuck it. I'll let Preston hold my kids and I'll go ask him myself then."


"Whoa, hold up. I'm not on babysitting duty, that's why I sent the two Tornadoes with Katy."

I sighed and shook my head. "Fine. Fuck it. You wanna know? You really wanna know that bad? Fine. He's my. Fucking. Father. The guy my mom cheated on my dad with - or who I thought was my dad - and who took off when I was just a kid. And the guy my mom never said a word about. Just let me believe a lie all these years, because she didn't wanna tell me the truth. Apparently I didn't deserve to know the truth, and apparently I just wasn't worth him coming back for. Is that what you wanna hear Asher? Can I fucking get married now? Would that be too much trouble?" I hadn't realized I was practically yelling and took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.

"Wait...what?"


"Yeah, you totally just heard him correctly. Let's move along."


I heard yelling but I couldn't really make out the words but when I caught sight of Quin, I knew it was coming from him. I didn't want to be a bother so I kept heading towards my cabin.

I saw him heading off but had a feeling he'd seen me. Most likely he'd heard me. "Yeah that's right! Keep on walking! Ignore me like you've always done! See if I give a shit!" I yelled at him and turned in the direction of the woods again.



I'd heard yelling outside and went to see who it was, sighing when I saw Quin and Parker in the distance. Fuck, this was not how I'd wanted this to go. I only had myself to blame. This was all my fault. I'd fucked everything up and I had no way to fix it.

Oh, I heard him loud and clear that time. So, he knew? Selma must have finally told him. I sighed and turned around. I didn't want to do this here but I had a gut feeling he wasn't going to have it any other way. I headed in his direction "Look. I want to talk to you because it really isn't how it all seems."
