"And I never stopped loving you but...I have Jon to think about. I don't want to hurt him."

"Then why did you let me kiss you again? Or let it get this far? You wouldn't have, if you didn't want this too. We both love each other, why shouldn't we be together? We got ripped apart once already. I can't go through that again."

"I wasn't expecting this Carter. I never thought I would see you again...I don't exactly know what to do." 
 

"You think I expected to see you? Here of all places, after all this time? Nothing that's happened to me lately has been anything close to what I've expected. My brother tried to kill himself, Ronna's gone, I'm a single dad. This isn't exactly how I expected my life to go. But it's the way things went, and I'm not gonna question it."

"I...I don't even know what I'm trying to say." I sighed "Now, I've ruined the moment. Way to go, Brooke."

"Well... we could always rekindle it... unless you don't want to. It's up to you this time what we do," I said and kissed her softly.

"I think...talking to Jon first would be the right thing for me to do." 

I sighed a little. "Alright. You're probably right."
