"Let me go!" I screamed as he carried me back inside the house and practically threw me down onto the bed. I sat there and refused to look at him as tears started to stream down my face "I just can't win, can I? No matter what I do I lose someone."

I sighed. "You can't save everyone Victoria. You just have to face that fact," I said gently. "I'm sorry. I know I'm being selfish but... I've lost enough. I refuse to lose you too."

I was about to speak when I heard a sound "That sounded like a raven." I whispered and went to the door opening it and then hurrying outside. A raven landed with a note attached, I untied the note and read it. I thought I was going to fall to my knees but I managed to stay standing "It's from Obedia."

"What the fuck? What does it say?"

I didn't say anything, I just handed him the note and went back inside.

I read it over, then read it again, sighing as I went back inside. "I'm sorry Victoria."

I nodded slowly "Who could have overthrown the President?" I asked him, trying to wrap my brain around it "I don't want this to be happening..."

"I have no idea. It doesn't seem possible. But Obedia wouldn't lie. Not to you."

"No, you're right. He wouldn't."

She put her head in her hands and her body started to tremble just a bit. I knew she was fighting tears, she'd always had to be so strong for everyone. I sat down on the bed with her and pulled her slowly into my arms. She resisted at first but I just pulled her tighter to me. "Will you just, for one minute, stop fighting? Just... let me be here for you okay?"

I nodded slowly and put my arms around him, laying my head on his strong shoulder "I love you, Ty." I whispered.

"I love you too Vicky," I whispered and pulled her into my lap, holding her tighter against me.

"I really want to make a life here, Ty. I want to put that place behind me for good."

"Then do it. Don't go back, not ever. Stay here... with me. Make a life with me. 

"I'd love too."

"I was hoping you would say that," I said and kissed her softly.

"I was hoping you'd still have me after everything I've done."

I took her face in my hands and made her look at me. "There is nothing... absolutely nothing you could ever do to make me not want to be with you." 

I nodded, looking into his eyes "I love you, I do. I just want to be happy, and I want that with you."

"I want to be happy with you too. Don't leave Vicky. Don't leave me again... please," I whispered and kissed her again.

"I won't, I'll never leave you again." I whispered and kissed his mouth softly.

"It's been hell without you all these years," I said against her lips and kissed her again, tightening my hold on her.

"If it's been hell why did you act so angry when I showed up?" I teased him.

"Cause I'd been holding onto my anger. Anger I should've let go a long time ago."

"No, you had reasons for hanging onto it."
