Brady & Autumn Dove

"We're going to take care of that right now. I'm going to make him something to eat." I said and went into the kitchen t start cooking. "Chad, a young lady came by earlier looking for you. Did she find your cabin alright?"

I nodded. "Yeah she found it. That was Cody. She just... wanted to thank me. I took her to the infirmary after... you know what happened with Quin."



"She was pretty cute. Are you close with her?"



I shrugged and picked at my nails. "We're just friends."

If I would have been closer, I would have elbowed Brady. "That was nice of her. I'm sure she was thankful that you helped her."

I looked at Dove and saw the look she gave me and shrugged a little. I didn't know what I was supposed to say. Chad had never really talked to me about girls, and I knew he wad still hurting too, how could he not be. We hadn't talked much about a lot of things. The conversation we'd had in the prison was the longest one we'd ever had.

Brady

I nodded. "She wants to be friends, but I don't know how that's gonna work. She prpbably thinks I'm an idiot anyway, so it doesn't matter."

Chad

"Why would she think that?" I asked as I was preparing dinner.
-Dove

I sighed. "Because when she said I didn't have to stay at the infirmary with her, that it wad really nice of me, I told her I didn't have anything better to do."

Chad

"Damn you really said that?" I said and Dove gave me another look. "What?"

Brady

"I know. Owen agrees with me, I'm retarded," I said and ran my hand through my hair.

Chad

"I'm sorry honey, you get that from your Father's side of the family. Just tell her you didn't mean it like that when you see her again, she'll understand."
-Dove

"I would, but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna see her again with that Carlisle asshole. I did tell her I had to make sure she was okay, but I don't think it helped after I said that."

Chad

"Oh...him. Well, I don't really think you need to worry about him saying or doing anything to you. Does he Brady?"
-Dove

"Nope. He's not gonna give you any trouble."

Brady

I looked back and forth between them. "Why...? What did you do?"

Chad

"He and I just had a little... disagreement, that's all."

Brady

"Your sister made friends with a young man at their camp and Carlisle didn't want her there and your sister was hurt in the process. Not bad or anything but you know us...Brady just had a talk with him...with a little force."

-Dove

"Good. What did he do to her? How did she get hurt? And who's the guy?" I asked and saw Dad roll his eyes. "You don't like him do you?"

Chad

"Nope, he's dating your sister."

Brady

"Dating?" I said and looked at Mom. "Not just friends, they're dating?"

Chad

"Well...yes. They are dating, and he's very nice."

"Very nice my ass," I mumbled under my breath.



"What's he like? How'd she meet him?"

I gave Brady another look "To my understanding they simply ran into each other in the woods and then he invited her over for dinner." I looked over and Brady was making faces again "Do you keep forgetting that I was 15 years old when you started pursuing me? Mr. 20"

"Nope. I remember it vividly. And my intentions were completely dishonorable. Which is why I feel the way I do about him."

I threw my hands up "Oh, I can't win with you. I'm sure Chad doesn't want details." I laughed.

"Nope, I really don't. I'll skip the conversation about how I was conceived if it's all the same to you."

"Well, you know I also gave birth to you when I was still that age so you do the math."

"I don't want to do the math," I said, making Dad laugh.

"You just want some of my home cooking, right?" I winked.

"Yup, just the food. I miss your cooking."



"I did too. I don't know how I survived when we were separated."

"And I missed cooking for the both of you." I said as I stood at the stove "Shouldn't be much longer."

"Cool. Thanks Mom, it smells great."

"You're welcome." It wasn't much longer and the steaks were finished. I set the table and started putting the food into the homemade plates "Deer steaks just for my boys."
