"Doesn't matter, I'll leave it up to you." I said as we walked out and he closed the door behind us.

I put my hands in my pockets as we started to walk, taking my usual path through the woods.

"Are we going anywhere in particular?"

"Not really. We can go anywhere you want. This is just the path I usually walk when I go through the woods. Sometimes I... like to be by myself. It's hard to think in the cabin sometimes."

"Right. It's fine, we'll stick to your path that you've made." It was a nice day out but still cold and the wind was chilly.

A gust of wind blew at us and I looked over at her. "You must be chilly," I said and took my jacket off, handing it to her.

"Thanks, it wasn't like this earlier. I guess because it's getting later in the day." I said and slipped his jacket on.

"Yeah it's still getting chilly at night. The days are warming up though." Good god was I really talking to her about the weather?

"I can't wait for summer, this winter has been really brutal. I'm so over it."

"Yeah me too. I don't remember it ever getting this bad back in Kampfer."

"It's been awhile since we've had one this bad but it's happened before."

"How long ago?"

"About 4 years ago." I told him just as someone stepped out of the trees directly in front of me and I almost ran into directly into him.


"You aren't supposed to be with him or anyone from their camp and you know that."

"Excuse me? We're not doing anything wrong. And technically I'm not from any camp, I live in a cabin in the woods."

"She still isn't allowed to be out running around without Carlisle knowing. She knows that as well as I do." I told him and looked at Cody again "Time go home, let's go."

"What are you, my keeper? I'm not going anywhere. Tell him I'll be back when I get back. He'll get over it."

"She'll be safe with me. I wouldn't let anything happen to her."

"What say isn't going to matter. But I'll let him know where you are, it's on you to deal with it when you get back." I told her as I turned and left.

"What the hell is it to you anyway? What, is that place turning into a dictatorship or what?" I said to his back. "Thought everyone came out here to be free, not be controlled."

"It's alright, don't worry about him. He's a little suck ass anyway."

"Sounds like it," I said and turned back around. "Well that was an interesting, and unwelcome, distraction."

"Sorry...ever since the stuff with Diego, Carlisle is on edge." I said feeling pretty embarrassed.

"Understandable, that was his kid, but we didn't start it. No offense. I don't think you had anything to do with it."

"No...I was just an innocent bystander. I can understand why they thought I knew something though. Considering how close we were. Or I thought so, anyway. The Diego I knew wouldn't have done what he did."

"I have no idea what happened. I don't know anyone involved all that well. I'm friends with them, but we're not really close. I'm not really close with anyone anymore though."

"You really should change that. I honestly believe it would make you happier than you think."
