"I need you baby," I whispered against her lips then kissed her again, harder and deeper this time.



"Save me? What do you mean?"

"I need you too." I whispered when we finally broke apart for just a moment "I need you so bad."


"From yourself. From this deep hole you seem to be stuck in and can't get out."

I looked away from him. "I'm depressed Caleb. I just lost Ronna and... and I'm a single dad now. What do you expect," I said quietly.

"I think so too." I told him as the front door opened and Brooke had made it back. "Were you able to get everything?" I asked her.

"Let me show you your room," I said and headed down the hall to the extra bedroom.

"You don't have to do that. I was just gonna grab us something from the Mess Hall, if that's okay with you. I need to get some more stuff to make more bottles for Daphne anyway."
