Atticus & Caitlin

"Okay," I said and closed my eyes, half-dozing as he drove us home.

Caitlin

We got back to the house and she was sleeping soundly for now. I opened her door and unbuckled her seat belt "Caitlin, we're home."

"Hm?" I mumbled, opening my eyes a little. "Oh. Okay," I said and tried to get out of the car, but I was so damned tired. "Could you help me?" I asked quietly, holding my hand out to him.

"Absolutely." I said and took her hand, helping her from the car but she was still having a hard time. So, against my best judgement, because she may decided to claw my eyes out...I picked her up in my arms so I could carry her back inside and put her to bed.

I didn't even fight him, didn't have the energy. I found myself laying my head against his shoulder, and before I knew it he was laying me down in bed and covering me up. "Thank you," I said quietly.

"You're welcome. Get all the rest you need." I whispered and left the room as she drifted back to sleep.

I woke up, unsure what time it was. I got up slowly and made my way downstairs, finding him in the living room. "Hi. Um... do you know where my medication is?"

"It's in the bathroom cabinet, want me to get it for you?"

"I can get it. Thank you though," I said and turned around, then realized I had no idea where the bathroom was. "Where -?" I started to ask, but he was already up.

"It's this way, I'll show you." I walked slowly so she wouldn't have to rush. I led her down the hall and to the right "Just through that door."

"Thank you," I said and went in. I got my medication out and read the directions, then took what I was supposed to. "Would it be alright if I got something to eat? I haven't eaten in awhile." 

"Yeah, of course. What would you like?"

"Anything is fine. I'm not picky."

Caitlin

"Do you want lunch or breakfast?"

"Lunch is fine. Just something light though. y stomach is kind of bothering me."

Caitlin

"Alright, let's go see what they have cooked up then." I said and started towards the kitchen.

I followed him in there and leaned back against the wall.

Caitlin

"Go have a seat if you want, you don't have to stand there."

"Okay," I said and went to sit at the table.

Caitlin

They had made some chicken noodle soup for lunch so I fixed her and I both a bowl and took it out to her. "Do you like chicken noodle soup?"

"I do. Thank you," I said and carefully took the bowl from him.

"You may have to let it cool some, I don't want you to burn yourself."

"Okay." I let it sit there for a few minutes then slowly started to eat.

"How does it taste?"

"It tastes fine. Thank you."
