Garrison & Brooke

"Somehow I doubt that. You're strong, you're a survivor." 

"Because I have to be. Honestly, I feel like falling apart right now."

"Don't hold it in. That just makes it worse. If you want some time alone, I can butt out for a bit. Make us something to eat maybe?"

"Okay. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Is there anything in particular you want?" 

I shook my head "No. Anything will be fine."

"Alright. I'll let you know when it's ready," I said and headed to the kitchen.

I lingered around for a moment and noticed the bathroom. A nice hot bath would be perfect right now. He probably wouldn't mind, he'd been nice enough. I made my way into the bathroom and found everything I'd need pretty easily. I turned the water on and undressed, steam rising from the water. I slid in and laid all the way back, resting my head against the wall. It felt so good...it had been too long since I'd had a bath this warm.

I finished dinner and made us both plates then went to go get her. She wasn't in her room but the bathroom door was closed. I went up to it and knocked. "Brooke?"

I heard my names and opened my eyes and sighed. I must have dozed off "Sorry, I'll be right out."

"Take your time. I'll put your plate in the oven so it doesn't get cold," I said and went back into the kitchen. I put both plates in the oven and waited for her, not wanting to be rude and eat without her. 

I got out of the tub and after drying off I slipped my clothes back on and then brushed out my wet hair. I left the bathroom and went into the kitchen "I didn't mean to keep you from eating."

"I didn't mind waiting," I said and smiled at her. "I hope you're hungry, because it smells fucking awesome," I said and got our plates from the stove.

"My stomach is practically eating my back bone. I'm starving."

I laughed. "Well dig in then, there's plenty." 

"It's been a long time since I've had anything cooked on a traditional stove."

I smiled. "I bet. Let me know if it's okay, I don't normally cook."

"Don't worry, I'm not picky." I smiled a little and took a bite.

"Good to know," I said and smiled back at her. "How is it?" I asked, taking a bite myself.

Garrison

"It's delicious, thank you."

"You're welcome. What kind of stuff do you like to eat?" 

Garrison

"Anything that doesn't bite me first."

I laughed. "Does that mean you're a vegetarian, or you just make sure you shoot it first?" 

Garrison

"I always shoot first."

I chuckled. "Good to know."
