"I'll be okay, you two. I've had worse." I winced.

"Doesn't mean you don't need to be looked at. If I don't get this stitched up you could get an infection."

"I know, do your worst." I teased her "Jasper. My brother must be pretty bad for that young girl to be so angry."

He sat up on the table and I got out everything I needed. "Well you heard what she said. Still no reason for her to shoot you, you're not him. You've never hurt anyone."

"Complete opposites from the sound of it." I said and looked over at Scarlett "You're a little hellion when you get angry." I smiled.

I blushed a little. "Yeah well, little bitch is a good shot." i laughed and kissed him quickly. "Told you i could handle myself."

I grinned at her when she kissed me and then winced was Gen was stitching me up "I swear, it's like I'm in here Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde."

"Why do you say that?" i asked, giving him my hand to squeeze.




I came running in. "Dad what the hell happened?"

"Just teasing you and Gen, that's all." I said as I gritted my teeth a little "Hey, sweetheart. We had some visitors...they didn't like me."

I finished stitching him up and tied off the thread I'd used. I cleaned off the blood on his shoulder and chest then bandaged him up. "There you go. Try not to use that arm until you heal up all the way okay?"

"Thanks, Gen. I got it, I'll behave myself."

"You're welcome. Hollar at me if the pain gets too much, I've got some herbs that'll help," I said then left.

I grabbed her as she was walking out. "Hey, Cruz okay?" i asked setting down my pack.

I nodded. "Yeah, he's gonna be fine. Just has to take it easy with that arm for a few days. Luckily it was a clean shot."

I stopped, almost tripping him. "What, they....they shot you cuz of your brother. Imean where the hell are these people and who the hell are they?"

"They're from the same place I came from, Feeny. They made it out but they're still scared, they made camp not far from here."

"Really, well then i am going over there. I will make Jay go with me dad."

"Absolutely not, you are not going to look for the one who shot me. I'll be fine, Feeny."

"Shes gonna go regardless Cruz, let her go after the others come and say its okay. We all are gonna want to, and i will too okay."
