"Well...hopefully the good keeps coming."

"I hope so. For you too," I said and managed a small smile.

"I'm about to be a Dad...I've been on edge lately. Some of the women who have been going into labor have had some serious problems. Aurora Miller even lost her's."

"Oh wow... that's terrible. Congratulations though. I'm sure everything is going to be fine."

"Thanks...I hope so. I've really been a mother hen about the whole thing."

"I'm sure Timber is just loving that," I said and smiled a little.

"Oh yeah, she can't wait to push me out the door in the mornings."

I laughed a little then bit my lip. "I can imagine. She's never liked being told what to do."

"I keep telling her that I'm not being bossy, just offering a few suggestions."

"Yeah well, rational thought process isn't really the strong suit of a pregnant woman. How much longer does she have now?"

"Not too much longer, a few weeks. Elena is due anytime now, I think. She's been shoving me out the door too."

"I don't know Elena, but I'm sure it's just the hormones and everything with her too."

"Yeah, it is. She's a good person otherwise, very tolerable of me."

I nodded. "So... how did that happen? You having two kids from two different people?"

I shrugged a little "Elena and I were very good friends before I met Timber and when I rescued Timber and took her to my barn it just happened."

I nodded. "I see. You don't have feelings for Elena though do you? Timber loves you so much."

"I love her as a friend, she's been good to me over the years."

"That's good. Friends are good. I've... never really had any... actual friends. Well since I was a little kid anyway."

I never in a million years thought I'd be saying this to Linna but here it went "You can consider me a friend...if you want to that is."

I looked up at him. "Really? I... I'd like that," I said quietly.

"Good, me too." I agreed with her "I guess I'll let you get back to your cooking lesson. I'll bring Timber by to see you as soon as I can."

"That would be nice. Thank you... for... for the talk. And for forgiving me. I know there's no way I can ever make up for any of it."

"You're welcome...things will work themselves out with time Linna." I told her as I got up and went to the door and Cole came back in "I'll see you two later, have a good evening." I told them and left.
