The Infirmary

"Some bastards from the other camp jumped Quin and drug him off into the woods. We went to get him back and found them beating the shit out of him. There was a pretty bad fight."

I went to Lea and checked the bruising on her neck and let out a breath. "Just bruised...dammit Lea you can't scare me like this." I said and took her from Ethan, hugging her to me. After a moment I let her stand, Rosalie had directed Bastian to a bed and was stitching his head back together. The door opened again and it was Dean "Where the hell were you?" I asked.

"I've been with Jamie on that hunting trip, I just got back. What the hell happened?" I asked, going straight to Lea. "Fuck are you okay?"



We got to the infirmary and carried the girl inside. "Can we get some help over here?"

"This way, Chad. Follow me." I told him as Owen came in behind him and I prayed all hell didn't break lose in here.


I didn't want any of them hovering over me "I'm fine...Bastian and I were...trying to help Gen when he came up behind me. Bastian tried to help but they knocked him unconscious." I said, not really wanting to let any of them know how scared I'd actually been.

"Oh hell no, he did not bring one of them here."



I ignored her and followed Rosalie back and carefully laid the girl down on one of the cots. "We think she got a concussion. She started throwing up real bad."



"Who the fuck did this to you? I want to know now. And what started all this?"

"Alright, I'll check her out. Just lay her down...who did this?"


I seen Owen and went over to him, I didn't care if anyone else hated him or not. We'd been friends back in District Two "You have to take her back...they'll come looking for her. It's too dangerous Owen."


I shook my head "Go to Quin and don't worry, I'll go keep an eye on things. I won't let anyone get hurt, okay? I promise." I told her and walked out.

"I'm not really sure. There was a lot going on. We were in the woods and she came stumbling through the trees, collapsed, and started throwing up. She's got a bump on her head."

"Alright, I'll take a look at her." I told him as I went to the basin and cleaned my hands. "I can tell you right now that her nose will need to be reset. She'll be sporting the raccoon look for awhile." I said and felt of the bump on her head, it was a good one. I did some more evaluations "We need to wake her up, it's defiantly a concussion. It's safer to keep her awake."

"Why the fuck do you even care?" I asked, my throat hurting when I spoke "You fucking left me after the snow storm, I woke up and you were gone. I hope that was one HELL of a hunting trip, Dean." I said and looked at Brett, I'd never told him much about what happened but I guess it was obvious to him now. Yep. Little sister boned your best friend. I couldn't argue with him here, not now so I stormed out of the infirmary to go home.

I nodded and watched while she tried to wake her up. "Is she gonna be okay?"



I ran out of the infirmary after her, catching up to her and stopping in front of her. "Lea wait, please. Please let me explain. I'm sorry I left, I shouldn't have done that. I was just... I was scared okay?"

"Only time will tell." I told him as she started to come around "Can you tell me your name?" I asked her but she was groggy "Are you going to stay with her?"


I watched as Dean ran after Lea and sighed and looked to Selma "He slept with my sister. I'm going to castrate that little prick."


"Wait until I clear some patients out of here first." I said as I walked over to Quin's family and friends "His ribs are bruised badly, breathing is really going to be a bitch until they heal up and he has a broken arm from the hanging. Other than that, he should heal up just fine."

"Scared of what, exactly? Me? You probably should be."

"Um... yeah... yeah I guess I will."



"No," I said, reaching out and taking her hand. "Scared of what I felt for you. And I went about it... totally and completely the wrong way, I ran from it, and I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you."



I breathed a sigh of relief as I slowly sat down. "Oh thank god," I said quietly. "Brett you are not going to castrate him. She's a grown woman, you have to realize that even if you don't want to," I said as Jason carried a pregnant woman in, followed by Jack and a man holding a toddler. "What the hell?"

"Thanks. At the moment I'd really hate to leave her alone, considering the circumstances."


I blinked at him, not really sure what to say. Ever since I'd met him I had been turned upside down..."I thought I was going to die tonight." I blurted.


I smiled when I turned and seen Preston "What in the hell is a Ford doing here?" he obviously didn't have time to chat.

I nodded. "Yeah. I agree. I don't... really have anywhere to go. So yeah I can stay with her."



"Geez... Lea I am so sorry. I... I had no idea it was all gonna go down like that. After Diego got killed... all I could think about was getting help. Everyone was going crazy..." I sighed then reached forward and slowly pulled her into my arms. "I could kill that bastard. If anything happened to you... I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you."



I seen who it was and smiled. "Well damn, look what the cat dragged in," I teased.



"Can we do this little reunion later?" I panted out as he laid me down on a cot.

"It's good to see you guys too, damn this place is booming. One of you wanna be a real pal and take Aiden for me?" I said as a woman came over to Katy "You must be the doctor. Look, you have your hands full here, I got this."

"It's not your fault, I let my guard down. That's the first time anyone has ever got the jump on me, of course the coward got me from behind." I sighed and rubbed my throat "Really, Dean. It isn't your fault."


"Thanks, I appreciate it."

"Here, I'll take him," I said, picking Aiden up. "Come on with Auntie Ezra, we'll get you something to eat."



"Preston you've... never... delivered a baby on your own," I panted out.



"That doesn't make me feel any less bad about it."



"It's no problem."

"Sweetie, I got used to being on my toes a long time ago. Besides, I know your Daddy." I said and showed Jason the curtained off room to put her in.


I wrapped my arms around myself like someone would do if they're freezing but I wasn't cold at all. "You shouldn't, it'll bruise but I'll live."


"I'm going to make some rounds, see if I can get this place calmed down. Yell if you need anything, just remember to keep her awake."

"Oh... FUCK this hurts!" I cried out as another pain hit.



I reached out and took her hand. "Come on. Come home with me. Let me at least get you cleaned up. Please?"



I nodded and watched her leave the room then looked back at the girl. "So... what's your name?"

"Not much easier the second time around, then?"


I hesitated but then I finally nodded "Alright. I'll come with me."


"Cody..." I whispered, my eyes were so heavy. "Please...don't let them kill me."

I turned as Jack came into the Infirmary and I went to him "Something happened tonight, we need to talk."

"What do you think?!" I yelled and squeezed his hand hard, crying out as another pain hit.



I put my arm around her and led her to my house.



"No one's gonna kill you Cody. But I'm gonna need you to stay awake okay? I'm Chad."



"What's going on? What is everyone doing here?"

"Alright, usually the second baby comes faster than the first." I told her as I started getting everything ready.


"I'm really sleepy though." I mumbled, feeling disoriented.


"Diego and some of the boys from the other camp jumped Quin. They hung him from a tree and beat him...Aurora...she killed Diego."

"Yeah she's... coming a lot faster... than... than Aiden did," I panted out.



"I know. But you can't fall asleep. You want a drink of water?"



I cursed. "This is gonna be bad. Is he okay?"
