In Passing

We headed out and tried to avoid the major roadways because we honestly didn't know if we were being searched for or not. It really didn't seem like it. Ian knew his way around the Capitol a lot better than I so I let him lead the way. "Everything seems quiet." I told him.



"I know what you mean. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. What did you guys id while you were out?"

"Well. We basically just checked out that little hot spot because my dad told Quin that Aurora was probably there. Which she was. Now she's back at my Dad's with Quin. Basically all hell broke loose after we had been there for awhile because some guys were trying to hurt Timber and Aurora. Timber is Asher's old girlfriend...they have a son together."

"Geez." I shook my head. "I can't imagine how that was for him. Is she alright?"

"She's going to be fine, I think."






"Good. What happened to her?"

I explained what had transpired to him. "Drama, as always."






"Of course. Wouldn't be 'home' without a good dose of the shit."

"Exactly. I avoided it for a long time but nonetheless...it found me when Tywin wanted my son."





"It found all of us. Found me when he wanted something he never should have had to begin with."

"Joy Anna?" I asked.






"Mmhm. He never should have had her to begin with. She never really wanted to be with him. Not really."

"How did she come to be with him?"






"She came from another village he conquered. She started out being his servant. Then he wanted more."

"Damn. That's awful." I sighed. "Look, I'm not sure if anyone told you but she wasn't doing good. Mentally."





"No. They didn't. What do you mean?"

"It just seemed like that place was really starting to get to her. She just...wasn't the same as she used to be." 

"Well none of us are. We were down there for... I don't know how long. Doesn't mean she's mental."

"I don't know how to describe it Ian but she was different. A lot different than any of us. Micah and Tyrion came and took her home though so hopefully she's doing better." 

"Home. They took her back to where he is."

"They did. But the main reason was to get her medical treatment." 

I nodded. "Hopefully they got her what she needs then," I said quietly.

"She needs you."



"I need her too."

"Are we almost there?"






"Yeah. Should be across the Capitol border in a few minutes."

"Alrighty. I'm just following you."






I nodded and we continued on. We crossed over into the Capitol, the only indication being a sign. "This is weird, with the fences being gone. Everything looks different."






"Yeah, it does. I mean..it seems like he made some good changes. But that doesn't explain his shitty choices."






"No it doesn't. I think we all could've lived without those. I think he thought his good choices would make everyone overlook the bad ones he made. He didn't know your people too well though I'm thinking."

"That he didn't. And when all of this gets out it's going to be bad if it isn't fixed soon."

"You've got that right," I said as we got to the main building. "We need to stay in the shadows. The maid's building isn't far from here."

"Will do." I said, growing a little anxious. Should I really be doing this? What if she doesn't even care if she sees me again or not? 

We kept on our way and I stopped when I heard something. It sounded like a distant moaning. "What is that? Do you hear that?" I asked quietly.

I stopped and listened closely. "Yeah...it sounds like someone is enjoying herself." 

I didn't say anything. I knew that sound. I knew who it was. Unless I was seriously delusional. I looked around then looked up, trying to locate the direction it was coming from.
