"He was very angry. There was a huge party that night, and he knew I'd been with Jason."

"I imagine he was angry, but you had every right to be with a man that really loved you. Marriage or not."

"Thank you for saying that. I just... I don't see how he ever expected me to love him when I knew what he did. I could never love or want to be with someone who rapes fifteen year old girls, it's... god it's disgusting." I sighed. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't be dumping this on you. I barely know you."

"We won't know each other unless we have conversations, and we'll be neighbors so you might as well talk to me all you want."

I smiled a little. "Thank you. It's nice to have someone to talk to. Anytime Jasper is brought up, Jason gets angry. He tries not to show it, but I can tell. I don't like it when he's upset."

"Yeah, it's probably hard for him not to get angry though. It would be hard for me if I knew someone touched me lady in a way she didn't want to be touched."

I smiled at him. "You're a decent guy Brett. I'm glad you and the others are here. That's why I try not to talk to Jason about him though. Not that I'd really rather bring him up anyway."

"Yeah, he's a pretty sore subject but it's good to talk about the things that bother you. I haven't talked about my family in a long time until today."

"It's good to talk about your family. I bet they really miss you."

"Probably, I miss them too. It's just...that life wasn't for me anymore and I had to make a choice."

"You had to make the right choice for you. As long as you don't regret it. And who knows, you could see your family again someday."

"I'd like too, but I don't see them coming here anytime soon. I'm sure not going back there, if I were caught they'd execute me for sure."

"We're in the same boat. I can never go back there. Not that I would ever want to."

"It would be too risky, that's for sure."

"I never want to see his face again. Hopefully I never have to."

"If he comes around here you won't have to look at it too long."

I smiled. "Thank you. It's funny, I feel safer here than I ever felt there."

"It's because of my pet wolf isn't it?" I teased.

I laughed a little. "Yes, definitely. You have a very nice watch dog. I think he's a little attached to me already."

"I think he's missed having a woman around."

I smiled and scratched Furious's head when he came over to me. "Well he can come hang out with me anytime. I love animals. He seems like a really good companion. How did you domesticate him?"

"I found him while I was hunting, he was still a pup with no mama around. I had to bottle feed him and all that for a few weeks, we just got attached to each other."

I smiled. "That's sweet. Well I can tell he's definitely protective of you."

"I guess I'm his adoptive momma aren't I?" I chuckled a bit.

I laughed softly. "I'd go with adoptive father, but you got the concept right."
