I helped Q take his medicine when a servant brought me the phone, I thought it was a little strange but I talked to V anyway. She told me what to do and I ended the call. "Looks like I'm getting my hands dirty."

"Why? What's going on?" I asked as Sebastien came in, munching on some toast. 

"Some shit went down and now Victoria has some lower Districts to hide. But they aren't the only ones, Allistair's family too ss hilarious as that is." I rolled my eyes and I looked over at Sebastien "You're coming too, buddy."

"Allistair's family? What the fuck did he do that he needs hidden?"



I nodded. You know I will. What do we need to do? I signed to him.

"I guess we'll find out." I sighed, that bastard was the last person I wanted to help "Victoria has a van in one of her garages we're to take it to Allistairs at nightfall and load them up."

I nodded, no idea what was up, but if Asher needed help I'd do whatever I could. 




"I can't believe she'd ask you to help him," I said and let out a little sigh as the pain meds started to kick in. 

"She wouldn't unless it was important so I guess we'll see." I said and watched him as he started to drift off "We'll be back, sleeping beauty."

"Yeah fuck you too asshole," I teased and managed a wave. "See ya. You can catch me up later." 

"Will do. Let's go Sebastien."

I nodded and waved bye to Quin then followed him out. 

We got back to Victoria's and I picked mom up gently, carrying her carefully into the house. She was still unconscious and her breathing was shallow. "Where can I take her? You have a doctor on hand?" 




"They have to get out, they have to," I said to Mom, clinging to her as we went in the house. "You need to see a doctor too. You too David." 

I pointed to the room Quin was also staying in "In there!"


"I'll be fine." I told Winter "Let them see to Adalee and David first."


"Yeah. I guess I'm kinda making a mess, huh?" I asked and Lucus helped me stand taking me into the room Victoria had pointed out early "Fuck, my head is feeling swimmy."

I carried her in there and laid her down on a table as the doctor rushed in. He immediately pulled a curtain around her and started working on her. He had to cut off her clothes to assess her injuries and I damn near choked as I saw her body covered head to toe in cuts and bruises. I went around the curtain, my eyes stinging with tears, and wrapped my arms around Selene when she came over to me. "It's... it's bad, it's so bad," I whispered. 



"I know, but you do need to be seen Momma. Are you okay? What... what in the hell did he do to you guys?" 




"That's what happens when you lose a lot of blood," I said, my voice a bit shaky as I grabbed a towel. "Lay back. And don't argue, I've stitched people up a time or two, I know what I'm doing." 

"Usually I'd never pass up an argument with you." I told her and laid back "This shit is going to hurt, isn't it?"


"Need something to chew on, bitch boy?" I teased David "I can think of something to give you."


It hurt to laugh but I couldn't help it "Get the hell out of here. Let the sweetheart tend to my wounds."

"Nothing you need to worry about right now. He's just a cruel person, Winter. That's all he is, he'll get what's coming to him." I told her, if Brady was dead I was going to scalp that bastard myself.


"My mom has the best doctors, Jay. They'll pull her through this, I promise."

We got to Victoria's house finally and they opened the van doors. "You wanna get these damn things off me? Dove's the only one I like using handcuffs on me," I said quietly, my voice coming out gruff and strangled still. 




"You want me to lie and tell you it's not gonna hurt, then I will. I'll try to be gentle," I said as I got a bottle of alcohol out of a cabinet and everything else I'd need. "I'm gonna need to cut your clothes off. You mind hanging out in your boxers in front of everyone, or you want me to pull a curtain around you?" 




"Yes he will. If it's the last thing I ever do," I said as we heard the garage door. "Is that -" I managed to get out before Mom was racing to the garage. "Mom wait!" I called and went after her.




I nodded and buried my head in her shoulder, not embarrassed in the least that I was losing it right now. 

"I'll just hang out, curtain won't be necessary."


I ran into the garage only see Brady and Brayden standing right in front of me. They actually escaped, I couldn't believe it. I grabbed a pair of handcuff keys from Asher and unlocked Brady while he got Brayden. They fell to the floor and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he picked me up "Where is Chad?"


"Shhh. It's okay." I said, holding him close to me when we heard voices and commotion.


"Where is Adalee? Where are my kids?"

I heard dad and saw Tara look up, her mouth open. "Go sis, I'll work on him until you get back," I said and switched places with her. "Hope you don't mind getting a little too up close and personal again," I teased David.




I took off and ran into the garage. "Daddy!" I yelled and threw myself into my arms, tears in my eyes. 




"Oh baby," I choked out, holding her as tight to me as I could. "We... we tried... but we... we couldn't... couldn't get him out," I said and hugged Winter when she came out too.




"They actually made it out," I said when I heard the voices, and wiped my eyes. 

"Nah, you'll do. You're attractive enough."


I squeezed Tara as I held her as she cried "It's alright, I'm here."


"Oh no." I said and my heart sunk but Chad was tough, I had to remember that. "Your voice. That chain hurt you didn't it? Come on, we'll let the doctor check you."


"Go to your Dad, I'll stay with your mom."

I chuckled. "Oh well thanks, and here I thought you only liked black hair," I said as I opened the alcohol. "This is gonna sting, don't scream like a girl now, alright." 




"I thought I was never gonna see you again," I sobbed out.



"I'll be alright. Just... gonna have a... a lovely scar... hope you don't mind," I said as we went inside. "Chad will... will be alright. He's tough... strong... he'll make it... out of the games." 




"Thanks baby," I said and kissed her then went out to the garage. "Dad..." 

"I'll do my best, you gonna cuddle me after it's over?"


"Hey, Jay." I smiled and went over to him, still holding Tara "How's mom?" I asked him and Milo came out too.


"Man, I thought you were toasted that time."


"I've been with you since I was barely a teenager. Do you think I scar could chase me off now? You wish." I teased.

"Sorry I don't cuddle. You can cuddle with your sweetheart though. Speaking of, you ever hurt my sister, I'll make these wounds look like scratches. We clear?" 




"Takes more than... a couple of nooses... to take us down," I said to Milo then took Dove's face in my hands. "No I don't wish. Nothing... nothing is ever... ever gonna take me... away from you again," I said and kissed her. "I love you."




"Mom's with the doctor. She's... she's not... doing so well," I said and looked down. 

"I hate to break it to you but your sister despises me so you shouldn't worry yourself."


"I love you too. So much."


"Alright. I'm going to go check on her and see what the doctor says. As soon as she's able we're getting the hell out of here. Alright?"

I chuckled as I got the alcohol ready. "All this time you've been around her and you still don't know her that well. She doesn't despise you man. Brace yourself," I said and poured the alcohol over the wound in his side. 




I stared into her eyes as I caressed her face, then kissed her again. "Have you seen the doctor yet?" 




"Alright," I said, not voicing that I wasn't going to leave without Selene. "Come on. She's in here, behind the curtain," I said and led him inside then went back to Selene, watching as Tara went back over to David.




"How's the patient doing over here?" 

I winced, man that hurt like a bitch "She wouldn't really let me get to know her. The whole trust thing, not that I blame her." Tara came over then "I'm doing awesome. Can I get a sticker?"


I shook my head "No, some of you are hurt more seriously. I'll wait."


I pulled a chair over and set by Adalee's bed "I'm going to kill him slowly, baby. I promise you that." I said, not ever knowing if she could hear me or not.
