Quin & Aurora

"Am I? I haven't gotten a bit better. I've only gotten worse."

"He's right." I said, as bad as I hated to admit that. "Leave the belts on. I'll be back in the morning, goodnight Brown Eyes." I said and nodded to Quin as I left.


"You hated me again."

I didn't even know what to say for a minute. "What?"

"You had a flashback and you...hated me again. Thought I had broken into your house and you threw me out." I said, holding back tears "What if you do that again but you don't come back from it?"

"Shh, don't say that Angel, don't even think that. That's not gonna happen okay?" I said, praying it wouldn't. What would we do if it did?

"But you said yourself that you don't what could happen. It was when you really despised me. You even called me a psycho bitch."

I sighed and closed my eyes. "I... damn it, I'm... I'm really sorry baby. I don't... I don't remember any of it," I said quietly, not looking at her. What the fuck was wrong with me?

"I know you don't and I'm not holding it against you. I just...I don't want you to feel that way about me. Not again."

"I could never feel that way about you baby. Not really. Not in my heart I couldn't," I said and looked at her. "Marry me tomorrow. I'm tired of waiting. I want you to be my wife."

"Are you serious? But..you'll have a bruised nose...and so will the best man." I smiled.

"I don't care. I don't care about any of that. I'll be marrying the most... amazing... wonderful... gorgeous woman in the entire world. That I love with all my heart. That's all that matters to me."

"I love you, Quin. You're the most amazing man I've ever met. Yes, I'll marry you." I couldn't stop smiling as I leaned in and kissed him.

I deepened the kiss as much as I could then smirked when she pulled away. "You know... you could really take advantage of this situation. I'm helpless right now."

"You also need to rest." I said, winking at him. "But one day...I promise to thoroughly take advantage of you."

"Mmm, can't wait baby," I said and kissed her again. "I love you. Let's get some sleep. You have to become Mrs. Aurora Bast tomorrow. It's gonna be a big day," I said, smiling at her.

"I can't wait to tell everyone. The women have been dying to plan something." I said and crawled into bed beside of him. "I love you. Goodnight Quin."

"Oh boy. I hope it's not gonna be too frilly and out of control," I teased, wishing I could wrap my arms around her right now. "Good Angel. I love you too."

"Goodnight, Quin."

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but it was awhile before it finally came.

I walked out of my bedroom, dragging my teddy bear. Momma was humming while she cooked, a genuine smile on her face. Daddy was gone at work but Uncle Parker was here. He turned on the radio then came up behind Momma and turned her around, then started to dance with her. She laughed then wrapped her arms around him and danced with him. He dipped her back, making her laugh again then kissed her on the lips. I thought it was weird that Uncle Parker kissed her there, but adults were just weird anyway. I watched them for a minute then went to sit on the floor and play with the cars Uncle Parker had made me. He'd painted them all different colors too, but my favorite was the red one. After a few minutes he came down and sat on the floor with me and we played until Momma said dinner was ready.

I opened my eyes and the sun was shining through the windows. I was still belted to the bed and Aurora was still asleep, so I laid there and thought about the dream I'd had. It was so vivid... almost not like a dream, but a memory...

I opened my eyes and rolled over to check on Quin and he was awake. "Hey, you should have woken me. I would have untied you."

"I didn't want to wake you. You looked really peaceful," I said, still thinking about the dream.

"And you look like you have something on your mind."

"Just had an... interesting dream, that's all."

I set up on the bed and started untying the belts, releasing his arms. "Do you want to tell me about it?"

I sat up and leaned back against the headboard. "It was from when I was little... really little I think. I don't think Raine was born yet. Mom was... really happy... there was a guy there... but he wasn't my dad. Uncle something, but it wasn't my Uncle Tom. I think his name was Parker. I don't really remember him. He danced with mom and... kissed her... I think... then came and played cars with me on the floor... It was really weird. It was nice though."
