"Then why on earth would want to give that up and check out early?" I asked "Because to her...and I can usually read people pretty well...you do mean the world to her."

"Maybe I do but... I don't feel like I should."

"But you do, and nothing you say can change the way her heart feels."

"So how do I change the way I feel? Because I can't live like this anymore. I just can't."

"First you have start looking ahead instead of looking back. That's the first big step. Was for me, anyway."

"I don't know if I can do that. Don't I have to... want to first?"

"You may have to force yourself some days."

"I'm sorry, I just don't see the point."

"You'll do that though and in about a week or two you'll let me know how it's working out

"You're gonna be checking up on me aren't you?"

I smirked at him and nodded "Everyday."

I nodded. "Probably a good idea."

"You'll get so tired of looking at me you won't have any other choice but to cheer up."

"If you say so Asher. I should.. probably get her home you know. Get her settled in and all."

"You're taking Abi with you, right? And Ethan is a pretty good carpenter, I'll get him to start Daphne a cradle."

"They might already have one, I don't know. We can check though. But yeah Abi's coming with me."

"Good, I'm glad. You wanna take Little D back now?" I asked, referring to Daphne.

I nodded a little. "Yeah. I think I should. Where did everyone else go?"

"I think they're just waiting outside." I told him, placing Little D back in his arms.

I held her carefully to me, feeling nervous again. "You sure I'm gonna be okay, carrying her and everything?"

"By tomorrow you'll be holding her like a pro."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah, I do." I said and smiled "You got this."

"I'm glad one of us thinks so," I said as I slowly stood up. "Thanks Asher... for... well, just... thank you."

"It's no problem, if you need anything let me know. I'll swing by tomorrow too."
