The Infirmary

"Hurting... and tired... Don't wanna sleep anymore though," I whispered. "How're you?"



I smiled a little. "You're welcome. Feel free to sleep, I'm sure you're exhausted."

"Worried about you." I whispered and leaned down, kissing him gently. "Will you please stop scaring us all to death? I'm going to hire you some body guards ya know."


I opened my eyes and smirked a little "I definitely need my beauty sleep now. Looking like a raccoon and all."

I smiled a little. "Who would take the job? I'm a danger magnet," I said and felt around for her hand.



I chuckled. "Nah, you're alright. Sleep will probably do you good though."

I took his hand in mine and smiled "In this group of adrenaline junkies I'm sure I could find somebody."


"I'm sure you're right. Goodnight."

I smiled a little again and squeezed her hand the best I could. "Yeah well, someone would have to be crazy to say no to you," I teased.



"Night Cody. Get some rest."

"You're right. I'd probably be threatening them at the time." I teased and kissed his cheek "Do you remember anything?"


"I'll try." I muttered to him and it wasn't long until exhaustion consumed me.

"A little. It's... really hazy though. What's wrong with me?"



I watched her sleep for a little while before getting up and heading home, my mind on her the whole time. I was hoping she'd be alright.

I shook my head "You were beaten again...it's my fault." I said, my voice breaking up. I couldn't help but feel responsible for everything that had happened.

I frowned and squeezed her hand again. "What are you talking about? How could it be your fault?"

I sighed and looked down at the floor "It was Diego and some of his friends....they jumped you."

"I know. I... I can remember... bits and pieces. That doesn't make it your fault though."

"You won't have to worry about it anymore...he's gone." I said, looking back up at him.

"Gone? What happened?"

"He had to be killed, he was...he was just...out of control."

I nodded a little. "No loss in my book." I got a flash of something, a cabin and some trees, but my head started to hurt so I blinked a few times, trying to get it to stop.

I could tell something wasn't right "Are you alright? Should I get Pepper or Rosalie?" I asked, worried.

"Just a headache. Started to remember something but it made my head hurt," I said and closed my eyes. "I'll be fine."

"Remembering something from tonight?"

"Yeah... woods. And there was a cabin."

"We found you hanging from a tree. They must have taken you to a cabin first."

"Hanging...?" I got another flash... first the cabin with Jasper and Cade... then the cabin with... Diego... and the other guys... back and forth until my head pounded. "I... I can't think right now," I whispered.

"You don't have to, it's over. Just rest, okay?"

"Okay," I whispered and squeezed her hand again. "I don't want to sleep though. I want to stay awake with you."

"You can sleep, I'm not going anywhere."

"I don't... I don't want to... take my eyes off you," I whispered, turning my head to look at her more. "I feel like... if I sleep... you'll disappear."
