"I know how to do a lot of things but he felts this was a better opportunity for me so I took it."

"Well... I'm glad you came here, if that means anything. What else do you know how to do?"

"Thank you." I smiled "I just know a little bit of everything, I guess."

I smiled. "That's good. I have a feeling you'll be a great asset here."

"Thank you. I hope so."
 

"I hope so as well," I said as we reached her room. "Well... good night."
 

"I haven't had the chance to say it yet but you're doing good things here. I don't approve of everything our new President is doing but for the first time ever in my life...I kind of trust the Capitol.That's saying a lot, believe me. Goodnight though, thank you for walking me."

"You're welcome. And I'm glad you trust us. Everyone can't like everything that's being done, but we do have everyone's best interests at heart." I did, at the very least.
 

"I know you do." I didn't know what else to say to him. He made me a little...unraveled.

I smiled at her. "Good, I'm glad. Good night. I'll see you tomorrow," I said and reluctantly turned, heading back downstairs. I didn't know what it was about her, but she stirred something within me...

I got to my office and I left the door open, despite wanting to slam it as hard as I could behind me. He came in after me and I handed him a glass without looking at him, pouring a shot of something strong and downing it.

I followed his lead and poured myself something strong. I kicked it back and then another before I finally sat down. "He's out of control, Robert."

"Yeah, ya think?" I said and took another shot, slamming the glass down and cursing when it shattered. I grabbed a glass and filled it full of who fucking cared, and downed half before running my hand through my hair. "I'm sorry for snapping at you. This isn't your fault." 

"Hell, I don't care if you snap at me. If the situation were reversed I'd feel the same."

"I can't marry your sister Micah. She's... god damn it, she's a child compared to me." 

"We both stood and watched as he gave those women away to men they don't even know. If he'll do that, he sure as hell doesn't care to do the same to you and Lydia."

"I know. Mother fucking crazy ass bastard. We're not pawns in his game! We're human beings and so are they! Everything he's doing is wrong!"

"I didn't want to tell you this in front of Lydia but the men we lost...he killed them. He shot them all three point blank in the back of the head because we had some escape."

I stared at him in shock, not knowing what to say. "He killed them? Are you fucking kidding me?" 

"I wish I were. They were good men."

"They were. What..." I shook my head and downed the rest of my drink, pouring more. "What the hell is wrong with him? He didn't use to be like this. Not until we came here and he killed the President." 

"The power has went to his head, that's for certain."

"It's more than that. He's literally gone insane." 

I nodded "I completely agree but I don't know what to do about it yet."

I shook my head. "This whole thing is fucked. On top of all of the other shit that's gone on, I don't think I know which way to turn right now." I threw back another shot then sat down finally. I told him about the party then got out the confession John had written down, letting him read it. When he was done I put it back away in my desk. "Marlena and Ambrosia Barrister haven't been seen since the night of the party."
