Carlisle and Sheridan Campbell

I took a shovel while she took the other one and started to dig.

It took a little bit but we finally managed to dig his grave. Carlisle helped me from the hole and we just stood there for awhile. Not sure of what we should do or say.

I held her for awhile then finally got down in the grave and lowered him into it. I made sure the blanket was wrapped tightly around him, silly as it was, I didn't want him to get cold. I climbed back out of the hole with difficulty and got my shovel again, slowly starting to fill up the hole.

I picked my shovel back up and started to help. I'd had to do this too much lately...Carlisle too.

We finally finished and I let the shovel drop to the ground, slowly pulling her into my arms and holding her close to me.

"We should get back." I whispered after we had stood there for a little while.

"I know," I said but made no move to leave.

"Come on, Carlisle." I said and stepped out of his arms to head back. I knew if I didn't make the first move we'd be here all night and he didn't need that right now.

I turned and slowly started to follow her back home, feeling like I was on autopilot almost.

We got back into the house and I didn't know what to say "I guess you aren't hungry."

I shook my head. "No. Far from it."

"I figured." I said and started to clean up everything we had used.

"Do you want some help?"

"It's alright, I've got it. You should get some rest...as soon I get this cleaned up I'll take a look at you."

"I'm fi... Okay. Thank you Sheri," I said and said down.

"You're welcome." I told him and cleaned everything so I could check him out. "Do you want to lay down or stand?"

"I should probably lay down. I think I have a couple broken ribs."

"I should have helped you dig more, I'm sorry." I said as I helped him pull his shirt off and he laid down. "I'll have to wrap you."

"I wanted to dig. Needed to do it," I said quietly as I laid down. "I love you Sherri."

"I love you too. This is going to hurt but you already know that." I said and started wrapping his rib cage.

I winced, trying to take deep breaths as she wrapped me up. Fuck this hurt like a bitch.

I wrapped his rips and cleaned up his cuts and bruises. "There ya go. Almost as good as new."

"Thank you," I said and pulled her into my arms, ignoring the pain as I hugged her. "I love you. Please don't go," I whispered.

"I love you too." I whispered, wrapping my arms around him carefully. "I won't but I can't stay away from Faye...you have to let us interact with the other camp."

"I will. To an extent. Family, yeah, and Bella because of the baby. But that's it. I don't know who was responsible for Diego's... death... and I don't want them here. If it's not necessary, then I don't want our two camps to mix."
