Forest

"He did way more than speak to her Brett. She was hurting, I get that, but he took advantage of her. He fucking slept with her. She was my fiancé and he slept with her. He waited until she was alone, hurting, wanting comfort, and he just weaseled his way in there and did whatever he could to get between her legs. If I could do it all over again, I'd beat the shit out of him even harder." I turned around and started walking again. "I'm done talking about this."

I was about to reply when a scream echoed through the forest.


"What direction did that come from?"

I ignored them and took off like a bat out of hell, vaguely registering them following me.

We got to the river and helped Bella settle down in comfortable spot, Raine and I started digging for worms while Chase and Gabe fixed the fishing poles.

"It's nice out here. You're right, this might be fun," I said and smiled at her.

"Yeah it is. We used to go fishing all the time when we were little, I taught them how until I...became afraid of water. I overcame that fear in the games though."

"I don't remember the last time I went swimming. Or fishing or anything. Quin didn't like me going in the woods alone and... he was usually off doing something so couldn't take me."

"I did'n't like Gabe and Chase going out alone either. They outgrew me a long time ago but I'm still the oldest." I smiled.

I smiled. "You're protective. Just like Quin. Just like we are of Zoey too."



I rubbed my stomach, leaning back a little as I felt a pain. "Chase... Chase something isn't right."

I stopped what I was doing and went over to Bella "What's wrong?"

"It... oh... it hurts.... It shouldn't be... labor, Pepper said... Pepper said a couple more months," I said and winced when I felt another pain.

Raine and I hurried over to Bella "It could be braxton hicks, my mom told me about those. They're like practice contractions.

Bella- "Are... are they supposed to... to hurt so much?" I asked, squeezing Raine's hand when she gave it to. I was getting scared, I wasn't ready for this.

Raine- "We need to get Pepper or someone, her belly is really tight. I don't know what that means."

I nodded quickly "I'll go, you guys should stay with her. If she needs moved I won't be able to lift her because of...you know. Have you felt your water break or had any bloody showings?" I asked her.

Bella- I shook my head then felt a really bad pain. "OH... ow that hurt!"

Raine- "Hurry Aurora, we'll stay with her."

I got to my feet and took off running as fast as my body would let me.
-Aurora

Bella- I whimpered and squeezed Chase's hand harder when the pain got worse. "Please don't go anywhere."

"I'd never leave you here, alone. You know that, it's going to be alright." -Chase

Raine- "Chase is right, everything is gonna be okay."

Aurora and I got back to the river and went over to Bella "Brown Eyes found me and Quin in the woods, he's gone to get Pepper. How you holding up?"
-Asher

"It hurts," I said, tears in my eyes.

Bella

"I know, Pepper will be here soon. Just hang in there."

"I don't know what to do. I'm scared."






"There's nothing to be scared of. Everything's gonna be okay," I said as Quin came through the trees with Pepper.

I was carrying a blanket and my doctor's bag "If her water hasn't broken we need to get this blanket underneath her so she'll be more comfortable."
-Pepper

I nodded and Asher picked her up while Chase helped me lay the blanket down. "What do you need us to do?"
