Caleb & Ezra

"I see. I'm sorry, I had no idea."

"I'm sorry too. Sorry I didn't tell you. I just... I couldn't," I said and turned my head away, hiding my tears. "I put a memorial up... in the woods. Caleb can show you if you want. I didn't know... if it was a girl or a boy. So I named him Sam."

"He can show me later, right now he needs to take care of you. I want to go make sure my kids are doing alright...I'm worried now." I said and pulled her to me, hugging her "I know how losing a child feels, and it hurts. I wish I could take that pain away from you."

"Nothing ever will. But thank you," I said and hugged him back.

"Believe me...I know."

"I'm sure you have to go... check on Timber and Elena. Thanks for bringing me home Asher. I feel horrible for leaving Aurora like that but... I just couldn't... I couldn't be in the room right then."

"She'll understand, I'll come back later to check on you too." I told her and left.

I took Caleb's hand and gently pulled him down in the bed with me, curling up as close as I could to him without a word. After a little while he asked if I was hungry and said he was going to go get us some food, but would be back soon. He kissed me softly then left.

I got home and went straight into Caleb's arms, unable to stop myself from breaking down.

"What's wrong? Baby, talk to me." I said, getting really worried. Something bad had happened "Ezra, whats wrong?" I asked again, becoming panicked.

"Ronna... had... the baby... Didn't... make it... Ronna's... gone," I choked out, clinging to him.

"Oh, no." I whispered and held her tight to me "We have to get to Carter."

"He's at... at the infirmary," I whispered, unable to bring myself to let go of him.

"What happened? Do you know?"

I shook my head. "No. Rosalie told us. Me and Lea and... some girl named Brooke, and old friend of Lea's I think," I said, wiping my eyes. "Rosalie was... she was covered in blood Caleb."

"Brooke?" I asked, shocked "That's her name? Are you sure?"

"Yeah... why?" I asked, looking up at him.

"She was with Carter a few years ago and went missing. They said someone from the lower districts may have taken her...when nothing showed up I think we'd all assumed the worst."

"I need to tell you something... that you can't tell Carter or Caleb. She told me and Lea. She needs to tell them herself though."

I raised an eyebrow "What is it?"

"She went to see Carter and he wasn't home... but she overheard his dad talking to someone. He was a part of the drugs being given to the trainees. He caught her listening. He used chloroform to knock her out and took her out to the wilderness. She thinks he expected her to die out here."

"He drugged his OWN son?" What the fuck..."

"I know. It's really fucked up. I don't understand... God I am so glad we're away from that place."

"Come on, I need to go check on him and...see Brooke too. I won't tell her that I know."

I nodded. "Okay," I said and squeezed his hand. "Let's go," I said and we left.
