Caleb & Ezra

I nodded. "No more. I promise," I whispered and laid my head on his shoulder, running my fingers gently over the flowers again. "I think... I really would've loved it... being a mom," I whispered.

"You'll still get to be a mom, Ezra. I promise."

"I don't know if I want to anymore Caleb."

"I understand, baby. Just when you're ready, I know you'll tell me."

"I will. I promise. It might not be for... awhile though. Are you okay with that?"

"Of course I am. I'm fine with anything you choose."

I nodded and laid my head on his shoulder. "You'd make a wonderful dad," I whispered.

"And you'd make a wonderful mother." I assured her, not sure if I would make a good dad or not. Didn't have that great of an example to go by. My dad was shit.

"We can head back now if you want. I want to go see Chelsea, she saw me leave. I want to let her know I'm okay."

I gently put her down and took her hand "Alright, let's go."

I laced my fingers with his, leaning against him as we slowly walked back, neither of us talking. When we got back home I kissed him and told him I would see him in a little bit, then walked to Chelsea's.

I bypassed home because Cameron had probably went there and I wanted to give him some time to himself. I had another score to settle anyway with my own brother. I didn't even knock on the door I just went inside "Caleb!?" I called and he appeared in the doorway.

"I see you forgot your manners."
-Caleb

"Don't preach to me about manners. I just talked to Carter in the Mess Hall about Cameron since he blatantly ignores him at every turn and I'm tired of this. Do you hear me? I'm sick of this."
-Abi

"I'm sick of you defending someone who put you down, hit you, and almost raped you. Seriously Abi, what the fuck is wrong with you?"
-Caleb

"What are you doing right now? You're putting me down for being with him, and the sad part is that you're in your right mind. He WASN'T!"
-Abi

"Whatever. Get out of my house until you gain some sense."
-Caleb

"This is also Ezra's house and I'm sure she would love for me stay."
-Abi

"I'm not arguing with you about him, I'm done. Washed my hands of him a long time ago for the shit he did and said about you and Ezra. If you didn't want poor little Cameron to be ignored you should have done us all a favor and left his ass in Kampfer. I'm about to just be done with you too, you've never appreciated anything I've ever done for you."

His words cut deep into my heat "I'm your sister, you can't just let me go." I muttered, shocked at what he had said.
-Abi

"Oh, I can and I will. Now get out until you decide to come back into the real world and cut your ties with him."
-Caleb

"Ya know, I wish I wouldn't have came here at all. I'd rather of gotten blown sky high with the rest of District One than be here with you and Carter right now. You're really sounding like dear old Dad at the moment." I wiped the tears from my eyes, I turned and walked out. Ezra had been standing on the porch and I couldn't even bear to face her.

I called after Abi but she either didn't hear me or ignored me and kept on walking. I went inside, stunned at what I had heard. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"I think you need to be asking her that."

"I'm asking you. How could you talk to her like that? She's your sister, not common trash and that's exactly how you spoke to her."

"I'm doing this with you, Ezra. I have my reasons for being highly pissed off at him and I'm not ready to forgive yet."

I glared at him. "You are being a selfish bastard. That is your sister, not your daughter, she doesn't need your permission to do anything. She needs your support not for you to shun her for the choices she makes. How you can blame him when he had the drugs forced on him is ridiculous. I can't believe you're acting this way."

I raised my eyebrows at her "You've never called me a name before, but thanks I guess." I shook my head "You weren't there when him and those other assholes said the shit that shit about you. I'll never tell you what was said but after that I also caught him hitting Abi and coming really close to raping her. How do I forgive that shit?"

"Because it wasn't his fault Caleb. He was on drugs he didn't even know he was being given. You've known him for years and even the little bit I've known him I know that's not the kind of person he is. For godsake I've forgiven Timber and look what she did to me, to you. I forgave her because it wasn't her fault what she did either. Cameron didn't do anything to you, never has, and Abi has obviously forgiven him. You and Carter need to do the same. We left the districts to get away from all of this, this hate and bullshit and you've just brought it with us!"

I stood there for a moment not saying anything. I went over and sat down at the kitchen table "You called me a selfish bastard and she said I was being just like dad. Yeah, I guess I am doing something wrong."

"Yeah well I guess you are," I said sarcastically and turned around to go to the bedroom.

I sighed "It's been a long fucking day."

"Yeah... tell me about it," I said and went into the bedroom, laying down on the bed, my hand moving subconsciously to my stomach.

I got up and walked to the bedroom "Are you hungry or anything?"

"No. I doubt I could eat anything right now."
