"What about him?"

"He's your real Dad...and he's a Simmons so you have a pretty big family here. I know he cares about you...I seen it in his eyes."

"If he cared so much he shouldn't have left. Maybe... if he'd have stayed... maybe a lot of things... wouldn't have happened. And even if he couldn't stay... he could've at least visited. I've known Brady and Brayden and them pretty much all my life. How could they keep this from me? They've lied to me for as long as I can remember. How can I just forget about that?"

"Maybe you should ask them. What if they had no idea you were Parker's son?"

"I didn't mean Brady and Brayden. I meant Mom and Parker. They knew. Or at least Mom did. But he left and she didn't know if he was alive or dead. So she just... chose not to say anything." 

"She was probably afraid of your reaction and can you blame her?"

"And waiting 15+ years helped things how?" 

"Would you have reacted any differently if she would have told you sooner?"

"I probably would've. I still would've been angry, but... I got totally blindsided. She told me on our wedding day, and I was so... pissed.... If she would've told me sooner... I could've gotten used to the idea... Could've talked to him when I saw him here instead of blowing up at him. Hell I... probably would've even invited him to the wedding. I don't know. I don't know if things would've happened different because she only told me when I asked about him, when I had that dream about him. If I'd never said anything... she wouldn't have either." 

"I'm sorry that they surprised you the way they did, she should have told you sooner. Don't get mad at me for saying this but I think in a way you're lucky. You get a second chance with your Dad and that's more than I'll ever get. For once I really think you should out your anger aside."

"I don't know how to do that Rory." 

"Communicating and actually listening to what they have to say could be a first step."

"And what if I can't... even bring myself to want to?" I said quietly. 

"Then you'll just keep being angry about it and what good will that do?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. I don't know what... to do anymore. All I wanted is a fucking normal life. I thought... we'd get married and... everything would be perfect. But now I'm all... fucked in the head and have this bullshit to deal with too. Why the hell do... you even put up with me?" 

"Because who would put up with me if I didn't?" I smiled, teasing him a little. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. "We're going to figure all of this out."

"I hope so," I said and turned her head, kissing her slowly. "I love you... so much. I couldn't make it without you Angel." 

"I love you too. More than anything."

"I know you do baby. If you didn't, there's no way in hell you'd have put up with all my bullshit," I said and kissed her again then pulled her against me, wishing I knew what to do about Raine.

"Is there anything else you want to talk about?"

I shrugged. "Not really. I just... feel really guilty... about Raine."

"I think we all do."

"I knew she was... getting worse, but... I just didn't know how to help her. I should've tried harder. I should've done... something. This is all my fault." 

"No it isn't. Raine isn't a little girl anymore, Quin. She's having problems yes, but you can't blame yourself for them. I'm not trying to sound harsh but she almost killed my brother. She needs to have some accountability."

"It's not her fault she's like this."
