I turned quickly and crossed my arms. "Wh...i mean, who are you to tell me no. I am a grown, independent and single woman, so why the hell cant i?" i asked.

"Because you could go get yourself killed, that's why."

"I could just as easily be killed here. I have thought it all out okay. Im not leaving forever. Just a little while. Ive planned this for months." i said and dried my hands. I walked over and went to help him lean back, when he grabbed both my hands and made me sit. "Dont...Cruz just....please."

"Do you remember when we kissed?" I asked her.

I looked at him and then down at my hands. "Umm, yeah...of course why?''

"You blamed it on the alcohol but...I wasn't drunk that night."

"Yeah you were, we were all drinking. You..you had to have been." i said and looked at him. My heart started to beat hard and my stomach was in a huge ball of flutters. He shook his head no and i smiled and looked down. "So, you meant to kiss me then?" i asked quietly.

"I did." I said, reaching up and caressing her face with my good arm "Does that make you uncomfortable? Because of the age difference or anything?"

"Im not a little girl anymore Cruz. I happen to be all grown and age is nothing, a number. I am crazy about you." i said and blushed a bit. "I...well i always thought you saw me as like a sister, or whatever."

"Oh, I'm fully aware that you've grown up. I was just afraid that you weren't interested in me. I thought one of the younger guys would have grabbed you up by now."

"I dont want them. I want you. Only you." i said as i looked into his eyes. "Im in love with you. Have been for years."

I was surprised but happy at the same time, I pulled her to me and kissed her gently "I love you too, Scarlett."

I was about to kiss him when i heard Diego calling for me. "what in the world." i asked and went out.

He was asleep when i got back later that night. I sat on his bed and leaned in and kissed his cheek. I watched as he opened his eyes and smiled. "Hey, told you i would be back."

"Yes you did, how is Sherri and the baby?" I asked, reaching up and caressing her face.

"They are fine, and its a girl. She's adorable. Cruz..my other sister Faye is there, in the other camp." i said and laid against him, crying happy tears.

I put my arms around her "That's good news, I'm happy for you. Everything seems to be working out now, doesn't it?"

I sat up and smiled. "Before i left, you told me you loved me, was...i mean was that just to keep me from leaving?"

"No, it was the honest truth." I said and pulled her against me "Stay, Please?"

"Only if you kiss me. Ive been dying to all day." i said and leaned in and brushed my lips against his, lingering just slightly.

I smiled against her lips and ran my hand up her back bringing her in to close the distance and kissing her deeply.

I wrapped my arms around him and let him pull me down, careful not to hurt his healing wound. "I love you Cruz. Im sorry you are hurt, or id really show you."

"I'll be fine eventually, then will you really show me?"

"Oh, i ..i will definitely show you baby." i said and let him kiss me again.

"It's been quiet outside, did those teenagers sneak off?"
