Raine

I was watching Raine sleep and didn't take my eyes off her. I sighed. "Yeah. Which is what I was going to talk to you about. At home. I just found out yesterday, not long before the wedding, actually. And there's a lot more to it." 

"At home. So, are we only allowed to discuss things involving our relationship on your terms or will I ever get a say so? Parker seems like..." I sighed because I knew he didn't want to hear this. "He seems like a nice guy. He was really concerned for you this morning."

"He also walked out on us when I was five. And I didn't know anything about him, or that he was even still alive, until yesterday. I thought Carl was my father, but hey, guess not. Mom never said anything about him to me until she saw him here. And to answer your question, I'm not trying to make it like that. I just didn't want to discuss all of this around Raine and everyone else. It's... private. And everyone's already heard too much." 

"This isn't going to stay private, Quin."

"I'm not talking about Parker. I'm talking about... the rest of what I wanted to talk to you about. It's going to stay private or I'm not going to talk about it. It's gonna be hard enough telling you." 

"You shouldn't be worried about me telling other people our business. I never have, have I?" 

"No. That's not what I meant. I don't want anyone overhearing. That's all."

"Alright. Well...I'll give you and Raine some time alone. I'll just be right outside if you need me."

"Please don't go," I whispered, still looking down at Raine as she slept. 

"You know I'll stay, I just wanted you to ask first. I didn't want to intrude or anything." I said and sat down beside of him.

"You could never intrude," I said, laying my head on her shoulder.

I laid my head over on his "I love you."

"I love you too," I whispered and wrapped my arm around her. 

We sat there for what felt like forever when she finally started to wake up a little.

"Hey sis... How're you feeling?" I asked quietly. 



"Tired," I whispered, and opened my eyes slowly, staring at the wall. 

"Can I get you anything?"

I shook my head, not moving from where I was laying.



"Raine... wh... why did you... do this?" I asked. She just laid there, not saying anything, and I could feel my heart shattering into pieces. How had she gotten to this point? How had I not noticed?

"Raine, please. You need help and you have so many people here willing to do anything for you."

"I don't... want... anyone's help," I whispered. 

"I'm sorry you feel that way but you aren't going to have any other choice." I said softly.

"Why not? Doesn't... anyone care... what I want?" I whispered. 



"You're not gonna... die Raine. I'm not gonna let you. I love you. We all do." 

"We would never let you kill yourself and I won't apologize for that."

"And I'm not gonna apologize for wanting to," I whispered. 

"Someone will always be here with you now. Atleast until you're better."

"That's not gonna happen," I whispered. 



"Yes it is Raine. You will get better."
