Raine

She got in and i stood there as she washed. "Do not scrub Raine, damnit." i said when i heard something funny. I opened the shower door and grabbed the coarse loofah she had. "No, i wont let you do that." i said, not caring i was soaked.

"I feel his hands... all over me... I just... want it to stop... g-give it back," I sobbed out, my tears mixing with the water.

"Nope, cry, scream, hit me...but ill be damned if you are gonna suffer more. Nope." i said being tough the way pepper had told me i would have to be.

I moved away from her and slid down the wall, pulling my knees up and wrapping my arms around them. I put my head down and sobbed harder, my body shaking. "I... I w-wish... I wish he was dead."

"I know, i wish the guys that killed my mom were too, and my dad. They all deserve to die."

"You know he raped my mom? Way back? He killed my dad. That's how mom got pregnant with Zoey. They think I don't know but I do. I heard her and Quin talking."

"Whoa.....no way. Well Zoey is a blessing. So it cant be seen as anything but that."

"But what is it? With our family? Does he just want to... destroy us all or what? He killed Izzy's mom, then my dad, then look at what he did to all of us. What the fuck did we do that was so wrong?" I almost yelled, tears still streaming down my face.

"It was nothing we did. Evil just is. It doesnt matter. Jasper, Cade all those men. Evil."

"Then why... why does it feel like it was my fault? Why did he have to... to do what he did to me? Say what he did? I'm... I'm ashamed to even look at Gabe, how could he still want me after that? He was right there... the whole time, just in the other room. He heard... all of it."

"Gabes a real man. He knows, none of this was your fault. You need to realize that too. Those men were sick, evil and they will pay."

"Yeah and who's gonna make them? The Capitol doesn't give a shit what they did, they're gonna be left alone to do it all over again. And again and again and again."

"Not to you though, or your family....ever again Raine."

"But to someone. Someone we might know, someone we might care about. Not everyone left Trin. Why couldn't they have just died."

"Raine, they blew up so many homes, for real...they might be. We dont know. The point is, yo are alive."

"Is there really a point if I have to worry about them finding us again? There's always a chance Trini. Until I know for sure they're dead... there's always a chance."

"Raine, you cant be scared the rest of your life."

"I don't want to be, but... I just can't help it Trini. I can't help the way that I feel." I got up and turned off the water in frustration, grabbed my towel, and dried off before getting dressed. "I'm going back home. You can come with me if you want."

"Naw, Gabe wants to see you and your mom. I will just leave you be." i said and smiled a little before walking back to my own cabin.

I finished dressing and walked back home, going in the back door and went straight back to bed.

I gently knocked and then stepped into Raine's room where she was laying down again "Hey, are you awake?"

I nodded a little, staring out the window. "Yeah. I'm awake," I whispered.

"How are you feeling?"

"Bout the same. I... I ate a little though. And... and I had a shower," I whispered.

"Do you need anything else?"
